The Osprey was recommended to us by the owner of our B&B, and it very much lived up to her excitement about it. She recommended calling or booking a reservation as it does fill up. We read some reviews to get a flavor of what drinks and food to try, but there are daily specials to look out for, too! It was clear from our experience that the staff takes great pride in both recommending dishes and accommodating slight modifications (see below). For example, I wanted to try the Bee’s Knees but asked for tequila instead of gin. Phenomenal drink with local blueberry wine incorporated and used during a benefit to support maintaining bee populations. My husband enjoyed both of his drinks as well! The food was the true showstopper. We asked for recommendations, and our waitress recommended 4-5 apps and entrees with a variety of cuisines and palates in mind. We ultimately selected the following: Lobster Mac & cheese - phenomenal with lots of lobster. Very creamy and the crunches on top added a nice touch! Seafood chowder - we tried several during our Maine adventure and can honestly say this one had the most amount and variety of seafood. It was truly delicious! Cornbread with house made sage butter - the cornbread came out last and it was clearly made to order. The sage butter was so freshly whipped and a nice contrast. Steamed Mussels with Thai chili sauce - the absolute best of the best. The sauce packed some heat but complimented not only the mussels but also dunking our cornbread in it! The gluten free brioche that came with the mussels was also delicious! We would definitely come back again!

I want to give this place more stars! We came for the view (which is lovely), we came because we were hungry & we will return because the crew here is phenomenal. They love what they do, they love where they work and it shows! My experience started when I called mid afternoon to confirm an online reservation and was greeted by the nicest person on the planet (I later found out was one of the owners). We got there and they were a little backed up and so we were 1 of 2 reservations on the porch, but there was only 1 table available and the super kind locals let us have the porch table. I'm telling you people walk into this restaurant and just want to be kind. We were recommended to order the scallops which came with polenta I wanted to bathe in! Our server, Amanda, was amazing. The hostess (I didn't catch her name) was so super kind as well. The vibes are just good here. I feel like the food tasted better because there was so much love in the building. I know it simple to feed people but it's harder to do when a restaurant down the street closes early for the season, half your staff goes back to college and you've likely been working every single day since May but man it does not show with this crew. If Ted Lasso was to own a restaurant, this would be it. Make the Osprey the top of your list when you are planning your next dinner out! Do yourselves a favor and give The Osprey a try, I promise, you won't regret it!

The Osprey was a real delight, just down the road from our airbnb. It's the kind of place where you can Id people at other tables using linked in and the crowd mostly seems like the type who boat in for drinks. Despite extremely low expectations (beyond strong drinks) we found The Osprey to be surprisingly ambitious, with an entire vegan page of a two page menu. We dined on the patio, they also have lawn area by the marina that is just a bar and a pretty decent cover band was playing classic rock tunes. I've diner at "Marina restaurants" up and down the east and west coast (mass, nh, Maine and California (sd, la, sf, oak, monterey, Santa barbara) and this was a memorable experience for a restaurant in that category. Although I'm not a yacht guy I do appreciate legit old money vibes and this spot has that.

I have eaten at the majority of restaurants in the Bath/Brunswick/Boothbay area and The Osprey, now under new ownership, is an absolute stand-out.

Firstly, we went to The Osprey for a date night after trying a slice of margherita pizza from their mobile oven at the Bath Heritage Festival. I'll go ahead and put their pizza in my top spot contenders in Maine (as a New Haven, CT native - I take my pizza commentary seriously).

The dine-in experience we had was excellent and exceeded all expectations. There are few restaurants in the area putting out a product like The Osprey (it may be worth mentioning I spent most of my career working in fine dining and hospitality management).

The Osprey uses local ingredients, all fresh, all carefully prepared and beautifully presented. The tuna tartare was among my favorite appetizers I have had anywhere in Maine - fresh, flavorful and creative - without being pretentious. The burger was on point and featured high quality Maine Family Farms beef (I added blue cheese and caramelized onion). The skillet cornbread would likely satsify even the most critical Southerner and was served with a garlic scape compound butter. We also had the mussels which tasted fresh and were cooked perfectly (none left behind as "iffy" or not opening properly) and was served with some nicely griddled, locally-sourced brioche from nearby Brunswick's "The Butcher & Baker". We thoroughly enjoyed the strawberry rhubarb tart for dessert (pictured here). I would like to note that even with a restaurant that was just about full - the kitchen and front of house prepared and delivered promptly.

Though the outstanding food along with the view of the marina and waterfront are enough to keep me coming back - the beverage program here will certainly stand on it's own as an incredible compliment to the equally impressive food. The cocktail list is fun, creative and clearly well thought out. The drinks were nicely balanced, seasonally appropriate and absolutely delicious. We were able to sample a house limoncello with strabwerry shrub as well. The bar program at The Osprey offers craft cocktails I rarely experience outside of larger cities.

I was thrilled when selecting a wine to go with my burger. It was not an assortment of the usual suspect varietals, but a fantastically unique list curated by The Osprey's Sommelier (yup, brick oven pizza and a somm). The list was easy to understand with tasting notes accompanying each wine and varietals that some diners may not be familiar with, but will certainly enjoy! Kudos to The Osprey for having my favorite wine list in Mid-Coast Maine. I will be keeping an eye on their social media as they seem to feature some interesting wine specials and pairings.

Finally, the service was friendly, kind, attentive, well-paced and knowledgeable. Timing was perfect on everything, even with some special requests we had. We were thrilled with our experience across the board.

Given my first impressions, I believe The Osprey is ready to show it will hold it's own among the best restaurants in Mid-Coast and is going to continue growing into something very special under the new owners and team, we sincerely look forward...
