UPDATE! First off all, Racheal the manager reached out to me by email and offered a full refund or a redo of the whole meal I had bad experienced with. I would have opt for the refund if it wasnât for my very hungry growing 5 yo. You see, my first experience at this particular location had very slow service and ingredients that tasted really âoffâ. But my 5yo LOVES their acai bowl (even though it was almost frozen solid) and smoothie. We pass through this cafe from school and martial arts, and kid would beg me to take her there again so many times. With a very hungry kid in the car, I caved-in despite not wanting to go. But glad I did! I took a chance to try their chicken pesto flatbread while there and it was DAMN DELICIOUS! Kid decided to have the smoothie instead of acai bowl and it was good!
I responded to the managerâs email, and accepted the offer to have a redo of the original meal because I was confident it will be better than before. Plus I really want this cafe to be like their Round Rock location! Came today and had the redo of the acai bowl, sante fe chicken dilla and breakfast chicken flatbread just like the first time and ALL ARE DAMN DELICIOUS! The avacado was fresh in the flatbread and the santa fe dilla tasted so good with no âoffâ taste with delicious sauces. The acai bowl was still a little frozen (like a very thick sherbet ice cream consistency) but can at least scoop a spoon. And also good. Rachel was there this time and explained to me the situation. Basically, everything was brand new (new building, new manager, new employees) and they were figuring things out including an issue with the freezer that stores their acai base. It will be my go to for breakfast, lunch and maybe dinner!
Original post: I will give them the benefit of a doubt because this is a new establishment. Maybe they just need more time to get this place get going right. But seriously, the employees need more training.
First of all, Iâm from California where there are many acai bowls and smoothies are the best in the country. I love tropical smoothie cafe at the round rock location for the food and smoothie. But this particular location is a joke! Seems like theyâre all 16/18 year olds lack of proper guidance to serve their customers. They served me SPOILED ingredients on the chicken breakfast flatbread and the sante fe chicken dilla! They probably store the ingredients improperly or held it out to long thinking theyâre fine. If you see the colors are off, throw it out and donât feed it to customers! You can see in my photo that the avocado is yellow when they should have been green and tasted gross. I took a few bites of my chicken dilla and the cheese was spoiled! I had to throw it all away. Couple hours later, I had a stomach ache with diarrhea while at work. On top of that I had to wait over 20 minutes and because they served the customers at the restaurant before preparing order pickup. Why I know? Because I live 5 minute drive away from this cafe and I ordered through their app for my Friday morning breakfast. Arrived there in 9 minutes or less. When I arrived there, they didnât even started my order and took in another customer order that arrived after me! Mind you it was just me and 1 other customer in the building yet I had to wait 20 more minutes for my flat bread, delli and a fruit bowls!
Although everything in the acai bowl tasted good, the base of it shouldnât be frozen. Either it was kept in the freezer too long or not thawed properly before blending it to smooth. You can see in the photo I took that the smoothie base is completely frozen. I literally could not dig in with a spin. It was for my 5 year old and she couldnât eat that because of it. She ate only the toppings which then led to disliking the rest of the bowl. Acai bowl should be smooth like a smoothie like the other locations.
Worst experience I ever had with a cafe. Will I be coming back? Not for a long time until I see some improvements noticed from our neighborhood. Itâs ashame because itâs so close to us. Please fix these...
   Read moreMy FAVORITE Smoothie place is TSC! This is a newer location - just a month or 2 being open. Most all are Consistent except a couple times there was a new person working & they left out important ingredients in my flatbread! I took it back untouched & they made a new one the correct way & of course do Not charge me. Most have Friendly & Nice Customer Service- just the occasional/rare âcouldnât care lessâ attitude.
All TSCs have Wonderful Smoothies & Bonus - Excellent Healthy & Delicious food (as well as the expected yummy Açaà bowls) They also have a Great App, EASY to use, colorful, easy to Customize what you want to remove or substitute - you can Even change for No Turbinado or Half, or Sub Splenda (for customized Sweetness or decreasing sugars where you can).    Read moreMy only complaint is that today the drive thru workers tipped themselves and didnât tell me until I asked. I pulled up to the window and got my usual drink, was told the total, and then the total was different on my receipt. When I asked, they told me it was an automatic tip when they donât hand me the card reader. This is the first time they havenât even offered me the card reader and the first time they added this âautomaticâ tip. To be fair they did offer to refund the tip but it was less than a dollar and is more about the principle that they tipped themselves and werenât going to say anything. I donât know if this is truly a new policy or a truly automatic thing but I genuinely doubt it. While Iâm overall happy with my experience here I will definitely be insisting on being handed the card reader...
