There’s nothing that will ruin an otherwise good meal, and attitude, like overpaying for something like this. Deddy wanted me to bring him some sweet potato fries and this is what they gave me. I think it’s well past time to change the oil in that fryer. Charged me $10 for these. Disappointed.

The food was excellent. The salad bar was the best I've had in awhile. My partner would taste the mayo in the thousand island dressing. He doesn't like mayonnaise. Thats why he tasted it. I couldn't tell because I love mayonnaise.

After putting this restaurant on the list to try, we finally got the opportunity to give it a shot. We passed this location a few times and each time we would say we need to try it. After reading the reviews I was excited to see if this was as good as it appears. We traveled a little over an hour and got there at around 5:30. We walked in and was greeted and given two menus then told to just find a seat. There were a few open tables so we were able to get seated quickly. The first seating of customers were already eating so that gave us a chance to see what others were eating. Mostly seafood which was a good sign to us. We had our orders taken, catfish and shrimp, then helped ourselves to the salad bar. Nothing fancy, just a good basic salad bar. One note there was no honey mustard dressing, bummer! There are 3 "bars" total that we saw, salad bar, condiment bar, and dessert bar. They do have old fashion cole slaw, very finely grated, it was very good. The salad was ok, and about the time we finished with them we received a drink refill and our dinners arrived. My dinner that I ordered was a fried platter and there were shrimp, fries and hush puppies. It looked very good however I did not like the amount of grease that was coming off the shrimp. The fries were natural cut like you see in the photos and were not bad however very soft and no crispness. The shrimp were very over cooked, a shrimp in a "C" shape is cooked, in an "O" shape they are over cooked, these were in a O shape and almost the consistency of a scallop. The catfish had just been cooked, was hot and fresh! The shrimp and fries were just not at the same level as the catfish and I hated that. Service was good, I feel like you are stepping back in to your grandma's kitchen and you just need to know that it is a slower pace, not a bad thing. We did not have a dessert, so I cannot say how they were however they did look homemade. Two dinners and two drinks with tip came out to $70. $70 seemed to be a bit much for the quality that we received. I have no problems with paying for a meal however this time it was hard to swallow. I am sure that the 5 star ratings may be locals or those that have been there before, unfortunately for us it was not at that level. At a 4.5 total overall star rating I was really hoping that this was going to be a new, out of the way location that we could visit every once in a while. For now we will just check this off the list and continue the search for new and...

Friends and family have said this is a great place to eat. Maybe it is when you dine in but takeout is a nightmare. We called in the order and the owner said 25-30 mins. We showed up 40 mins after we ordered just to give the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately when we arrived our food wasn’t ready and I was told 4-5 minutes and it’ll be out. Our order was placed over an hour and a half ago and we are still waiting. The staff and owner are very nice and the salad bar does appear to be kept up but to be paying 70$. Okay so what actually happened is that the owner is old and hard of hearing and misunderstood our name. Our food has been ready for 20 mins and after pressing and asking him to read out the order for the food he wouldn’t. After pressing and saying that I would just go eat somewhere else he finally read the order for the food that was ready and turns out it was ours! Will never be doing takeout again and definitely not for that price. Maybe dine in is different but now my food is cold and I’m not...

Very disappointing. I ordered a medium ribeye. It came out well done. I returned it & asked for it medium rare, so I could eat it. It came out the second time and it was cooked ok. But I got my steak cooked twice & the rest of our party still waited for their food for am additional 30 minutes after I got my 2nd steak. The 2nd steak, ribeye by the way, had zero flavor. I can honestly say that was the worst steak i have ever put in my mouth. I only took 2 bites of the entire steak. The waitress was on point throughout the whole meal. When leaving, the cashier asked how was it. I expressed my displeasure & was told," well, we will try to do better next time! No discount or anything. I paid $25 for a baked potato, because that is all i ate. THERE WILL NOT BE A...
