Billboards say Best Food in GA. NOT. Had breakfast. Bacon undercooked in microwave. The opposite of crispy. Also ordered patty sausage to try. Can't get patty to stay together in kitchen, kitchen sends out sausage scramble with harsh chemical taste. Eggs overdone, grits gooey with several items added that subtract from grits. Order a biscuit, no offer of jelly, none in view, you ask, it's in a refrigerator behind the counter. Lazy staff is irritated you asked for them to give you some--certainly they don't offer it. Said, well will try their prepared food. Pimento Cheese $10.99 for 16 oz. Laziness reigns. Though Cheese is shredded not grated, staff is too lazy to stir the cheese up so it blends. The fact that the cheese is out of a bag is not concealed. Use of cheese product is apparent just from its miserable appearance. Potato salad, game day treat, right? No not southern, chemical tasting Red Skin potato salad. Bacon $25.99 a pound in case. Ridiculous concept, even more poorly executed. Lazy staff, awful experience, highway robbery, really deeply...
Read moreI like to say theres two parts to this place. First the market side. I have to say where this place is located I am blown away buy the ridiculous high prices. I mean there is items here you can drive one mile up there road to get for half the prices. Im not Rich or dont spend money just because I have it. The meats look awesome. I can say paying a bit extra for freshly cut meats. Ok second part of this is the eatery area. The prices level out here. There is two part to this location. Meals with choice of a meat and veggies. Then you have the sandwich side. I ordered from there. I got a hamburger second on the list without cheese. It came perfectly cooked. But the hamburger had a strange order to it something I never smelled on a hamburger. It smelled fishy. I still ate it . But Im not sure if it was the burger I didnt feel right later eating it. As a whole this is a nice niche place for people that want to be seen here instead of trader joes or walmart. Will I come back...
Read moreThis restaurant has two options: 1) a hot cafeteria-style counter with different price points for different combinations (meat + 2 veggies, 4 veggies, etc) and 2) a counter service for the menu items posted on their website. One person in our party is vegan and the only option was the salad bar (part of the cafeteria-style counter). Even their rice is cooked with butter. However, an employee named Chris very graciously sauteed a bowl of yummy veggies and brought them out to her. Service at that level is rare these days and was very much appreciated! All of the foods tried by our party were excellent, except the old fashioned cake, which was dry. The squash casserole was amazing, as was the pecan pie. There are booths and tables for the restaurant area. There is also a juice bar and ice cream counter. The restaurant is connected to the market, which is also worth a visit. They mill grits on site and sell them in bags...
