My wife and I were on a road trip to GA. We wanted to make sure we got "local flavor" wherever we needed to stop. Usually on a highway trip that's hard to find amongst the chain places littering the highways. This store was camouflaged right next to a gas station, so the location was a bit hidden. Found a parking spot on the lower portion of their property and walked up the steps. We wished it was covered because the rain was bad that day. The hostess allowed us to check out the menu. Its Italian affair. The homemade bread display was inviting and intriguing. Our waitress was Molly who was kind and attentive. She had asked the kitchen if they'd make the calamari a certain way for my wife, came back and answered our question that they could. We decided to skip on the appetizer due to budget, but while we finished ordering the appetizer showed up as if we had ordered it. My wife felt bad that it was a special order item and we took it anyway. The calamari was done as we asked. The coating and marinara was delicious. After a short time our food was delivered she had the buffalo chicken tenders and fries, I ordered the Ruben and Their home potatoes. Her chicken was done perfectly and the flavor was delicious. The Ruben was one of the best I've ever had. The beef was not burnt and the kraut was still juicey while the bread remained crispy grilled. The potatoes were something completely different to what I was expecting. It was a lot of potatoes sliced in long quarters with butter (too much) and seasoning. The flavor was excellent but I don't like my food to swim. Just something personal. What bothered me was the food was touted as being from scratch, justifying price and reason of popularity. The 1000 island sauce came in a little sealed cup. The fries my wife had came straight from a bag. The fact that the homemade potatoes exist mean they buy potatoes in bulk, why not make your own fries? The dressing I understand because it's uses aren't plenty, but bring it out in a small monkey dish to fool me. The atmosphere was great. Very small time but very very professional. We loved the covered indoor porch area we sat at. Paying the bill was easy at the cashier and there were lollipops to be had for even the big kids that were complimentary. If I were local I'd go back here to sample as much of the menu as I could. Good job Molly and team!

Classic, "Continental" cuisine, from a different era. The sort of casual, family-fun, "European'ish", restaurants, that emerged out of post-war, 50's - 60's, Americana. THIS IS 'OLD SCHOOL. Simple, solid ingredients, skillfully prepared, without pretense....but, with unapologetic nostalgia, and respect for food choices, long past. Seriously....when is the last time, you had lightly breaded white fish, with capers ? Somebody, in the kitchen, goes way back....or, perhaps, they simply learned, from an old-timer. The scallops, were a rare treat. Salted/Dried, in 'prep, BEFORE a quick saute. This is how scallops are meant to be prepared ; the result ? Textured, not wet. Vegetable medley, served separately, precisely flash steamed, at the last moment. AndantƩ..... barely seasoned. Let the vegetable speak..... Let the guests decide, how to flavor their vegetables. I chose, to soak up the excellent scampi sauce. Dessert ? ( see photo attached....and, weep ! ). The true litmus test, for any faux', Italian restaurant, is their Cannolis. True to form, it's old school Deli. Rich, but not too sweet. Meant to be served with strong expresso, or in my case, strong tea. The decor is fun, kitschy, and detailed, with some rooms, dark, rich and under-lit ....other rooms, open and airy. The soundtrack, appropriate to the theme > classic Italian-American Standards ( Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Louise Palma, etc ), played at an appropriate volume > enough to be heard and enjoyed, but not enough to interrupt easy conversation. The service, warm and attentive. Very professional. Fun for the family, fun for the date.....fun for an old codger, reminiscing about days, almost forgotten. !WAIT! .......i just NOW, tried the Key-Lime Pie ! It's so rarely done right ( often, shallow in taste, and texture ). This is the best 'Key Lime, I've had it in a very long time. Bold, bright, fruit expression, with a brilliant, graham-crusted shell. Perfect.

I had the pleasure of dining at Frank's Family Restaurant in Palmetto, GA, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere that immediately made me feel at home. The menu offered an impressive variety of options, catering to every palate. Whether you're a fan of classic comfort food or looking for something more adventurous, Franks has you covered. Their commitment to using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients was evident in every dish that graced our table. The Spinach pie, Greek salad AND potato soup!!! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was impeccable, it exceeded my expectations. The portion size was generous, and each bite was a burst of delightful flavors that danced on my taste buds. What truly stood out, aside from the exceptional food, was the impeccable service. The staff at Frank's Family Restaurant went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. They were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and eager to accommodate any dietary preferences or allergies. The ambiance of the restaurant was another highlight. The rustic decor and inviting lighting created a warm and inviting space that's perfect for any occasion, whether it's a casual family dinner or a special celebration. To top it all off, the dessert selection was a Heavenly conclusion to our meal. We indulged in the peach strudel?, and it was the perfect sweet note to end the evening. In a world where dining experiences can sometimes feel rushed or impersonal, Frank's Family Restaurant stands out as a Beacon of Hospitality, Exceptional Cuisine, and genuine care for their patrons. If you're anywhere around Palmetto, GA, I suggest, wholeheartedly, recommend paying them a visit. Your taste buds and your soul will thank you!

It was recommended that we make reservations… which we did for 6pm… we arrived at 5:50 and it was CHAOTIC. After we finally found someone to check in… we were seated around 6:20. Which, we went ahead and placed out order (6:20)At around 6:40 a gentleman walked up to a table next to us and told the guest who had finished eating… and just sitting there talking…if they were finished eating if they mind excusing themselves because he had reservations for 530 for a large party and it was now 640. I think, that would have came better coming from someone from the restaurant rather than a customer. When they sat down they told us… the hostess told them their reservation was at hold up because the people just sitting there. Around (7:05…. Mind you we ordered at 6:20). The waitress ( Selena, very nice … but you can tell she was overwhelmed) came by and brought our drinks and we inquired our food… and she explained she was going to check…. But was getting stopped at every table on her way. 7:15 they brought out the party of 12 food before ours and they were seated 20 mins after us…( they too inquired about their wait on food time). So we asked our server if we could speak to a manager. 7:25 a YOUNG lady( in all black) came over and asked how can she help. We asked if she was the manager (she looked very young)….She said ā€œ well kinda , my family owns the restaurant. We proceed to explain our concern with the time line… of being seated, getting out drinks and now waiting almost an hour for our food…. No apologies, no invitation to maybe bread while we waited…but rather she commented ā€œ if you ordered crab legs and there is only one chef cooking crab legs for the whole restaurant. ( not sure why you would have only one chef cooking what’s considered the specialty of the night) When we asked how the table next to us was seated 2O min after us… and got their food and we were still waiting for ours…. Her response was… ā€œdidn’t order crab legs ā€œ in a rude irritated way…. And she walked away… our server came right after and stated she would go check… … there are about 4 other tables who were also complaining about their wait time. The food arrived at 7:35( we waited 1 hr and 15 min for crab legs). My friend ordered a fully loaded potato and they brought her a plain potato. I also ordered a fully loaded but they didn’t give me the sour cream. My crab legs were warm and soggy on the outside and cold and sticking to the shell when you crack them open… at this point…. I stop complaining because nothing was getting done. The table behind us sent their fish back twice and gave up with dissatisfaction. My friend asked several times for the toppings for her loaded potato…. And by the time we finished eating the crab legs… they brought her the toppings for her potatoe( 7:53…..18 minutes later)… the lady that said her family owned the business was stopped by another table and asked what was the wait…. And a gentleman intervened and told them….we have ONE cook… so if you ordered crab legs… be prepared to wait. I thought that was rather rude but I had my own issues with my service. We received our bill around 8:00… and had to wait in line that was blocking the servers way in and out the kitchen for 15 minutes before we were able to pay. I know this review may not mean much because people will still come…. I just want management/owners to know how their business is being ran and customers are being treated. A lady waiting behind us in line said… she’s been before and the service has been declining lately on Tuesdays. I should have been told about the wait time… before I sat down…and given the option rather i wanted to wait rather than keep telling me my food is on its way. Yes i could have left… but after driving 20 miles…. And being constantly told my food is on its way….All i wanted to do was eat. Guess I’ll try my experience in Fayetteville…. Because THIS… definitely was not a...

Sorry it's so long, but I want to make sure the truth is completely out. This restaurant used to be amazing! I was so excited when my husband told me Frank's was doing a Mother's Day special and you could order ahead for take-out as long as it was 2 hours in advance. We had been trying to decide what to do because my grandmother can no longer go out and my mother takes care of her, so this was the answer to our problem. Called on Saturday at 4:12pm to order shrimp fettuccini alfredo (3-4 people) and chicken parmigiana (6-8 people) and was to come with salad and breadsticks, told the person on the phone we needed to pick-up around 1:30pm on Sunday, paid, left over a $20 tip (for take-out mind you), and looked forward to Sunday. Get there Sunday at 1:40pm and wait a few minutes because my husband can see they're busy, then he tells them we are there to pick-up, the host goes to check on it and comes back to tell him they are putting it together now. So he waits, no problem, it's Mother's Day and I have restaurant experience so I know it's a mad house. I see other to-go orders come and go while we wait, after 40 minutes of waiting my husband asks the host again to check on our order and he says they're waiting on the chicken parmigiana and it's in the oven. Wait another 15 minutes and the host says they made the wrong size of our order and they're fixing it now. Wait about 10 more minutes and 2 servers come out and offer to carry to the truck. We load it into the truck, we ask does this include the shrimp alfredo because we don't see it, they respond "I don't know, I'll go check." Servers and my husband go back inside to check on this, meanwhile a server comes back out to me (bypassing my husband waiting for them to give him an answer) and asks me for a bag back that they just put in the truck. So I get out, give her the bag and text my husband to see why she took it back. About the time he comes out to see what is going on, the server comes back with the same bag and says it was the right bag after all. So then my husband asked if everything is now there and the server says to him "I don't know, that's what they handed me." We left after being there over an hour waiting for a to-go order that was supposed to be ready and was called in the day before! The manager, Silvia, just stood there most of over the hour, knowing my husband was waiting for so long and never even spoke a word to him. When I posted on their FaceBook page about this experience, the response was condescending and took zero responsibility for the error that was clearly made (whether it be the order was forgotten or they gave it to the wrong person or what). They just wanted to push blame on us for not being patient and understanding for their being understaffed, which we felt we very much were and tried to be extra sensitive to since I know how it feels to work in a restaurant on Mother's Day and they tried to put me a guilt-trip about not being sympathetic to the fact they had to work on Mother's Day. If you can't provide the service you are promising, then don't offer it. They knew the staffing situation before hand and still chose to offer this and we took them up on it and they failed and only wanted to point fingers back at us, paying customers over $225 worth. Not happy, will not return, will not recommend and hope this helps others avoid the...

This post for Franks has been coming across my news feed for a week now and I've been wanting to go and check it out. Today, of all days being my mom's birthday, I thought we should go and check it, that it would be a nice place to take her for her. Upon arrival we were greeted and told our server would be Shannon.. after seating us Shannon approached not a smile. Not a warm greeting but that's okay. We got ready to order again. It's myself, my two parents and my three boys. I began to order for my boys. I ordered a kids Alfredo and I asked if I could add grilled chicken. Shannon looked at me and said No you cannot, you can order a side of grilled chicken and add it to your pasta you self when it comes to the table, and it the manner in which she spoke. I guess kind of caught everyone off guard because my parents both immediately looked up as kind of speechless not knowing why she was so offensive to me asking for chicken alfredo at an Italian restaurant. However, to continue on afterwards I asked if we could have some napkins. She proceeded to leave the table she came back. I held my hand up for the napkins. She threw them on the table and walked away at this time. I just went to the front and I asked to speak with the manager in which Diana came from the back. I explained to her what happened. She said oh that's just Shannon she's not a people person. So why is she here!? But I asked, an I supposed to pay for poor customer service where we are being treated rudely and disrespectfully for no reason because she's not a people person. Diana, apologize and said she would get us a new waitress at that time. Ms. Lisa came over to help us. It was fine. We placed our order, Three kid meals and two regular burgers at 4:24. We did not receive her food until after 5:10. Not a sorry..or our bad on the delay.. but everyone else around us was giving their food even people that came in and were seated after us. We were also presented with a specials menu for their specials for today, the crab legs, when we were seated upon which my father ordered 20 minutes after placing his order. We were then told oh well the special doesn't start until 5:00... nowhere on their menu no where on any of their signs no where on the specials menu that was handed to us when we were seated. Was that presented. After we asked for the check, the server walked over and told me oh! We do also add an 18% gratuity to parties of six or more... Again where is this information shown? The customer service along with having cold food, I felt horrible for bringing my mom on her special day. Not being a people person gives you no right to take advantage of anyone, nor be rude to people and that's what you did. Ms. Shannon and Ms.Diana you both...
