First and foremost...This place should be reported to the HEALTH DEPARTMENT. After being on the road first thing in the morning and driving on country roads with nothing insight for miles and my need for another coffee. We finally stumbled upon the Huddle House in Townsend GA. as we were traveling through on our way to I-95. We just had the worst breakfast of our lives. We'll be lucky if we don't get food poisoning. So bad we wouldn't have even fed it to our dog Shelby. The restaurant was run by a couple that must have owned both the gas station and the Huddle House restaurant. I should have known the second we went in that it didn't look like a normal Huddle House as they usually have open kitchens with countertop service in addition to table service. This place was not set up that way. It has a very private closed off kitchen. We ordered 2 breakfast bowls. I wasn't going to post pictures because I didn't want to make anyone get grossed out and sick but I think people need to know the truth about this place. I opened my styrofoam container of food and it smelled off but I couldn't put my finger on the smell then I took a bite and immediately spit it out. It's an hour later and I still can't get the taste out of my mouth🤢 My husband's meal was as described to a "T" The base of the pile of food was a wet pile of mushy slimy hash browns topped with burnt bacon, topped with off colored eggs and a piece of sausage that looked like it had sat out for days and finally topped with a moldyish country gravy. Everything looked as if it had a grey tinge to it. The smell was horrid right from the beginning. The owner had noticed my face and reaction to my bite🤮from across the room and she clearly noticed that we didn't eat anything. And as she is charging me $$ 38 and I'm paying I'm politely expressing our dislike for the food. She's pointing to the tip part of the credit card reader as to say 🤷 so I tipped her $4 and we left. I will say this again. REPORT THIS HUDDLE HOUSE located in Townsend GA. to the GA. HEALTH...
Read morePlaced an order online on Thursday 1/20/22 at 922 PM. Received an email stating my order would be ready by 939 PM. Drove all the way over to this location to find they were closed - business hours stated that they were open til 10PM. Called at 0700 the next morning, 1/21, and spoke with someone with the last name Patel, who claimed she was the manager. Ms. Patel asked if I lived in the area - I told her we were here visiting. She said she saw my order and would "speak to the owner" to get it refunded. I asked why she had to speak to the owner when they closed early.. she said she was the manager and would get it taken care of. Ms. Patel said I would see the refund within 24 hours - I also questioned why it would take 24 hours and she said it takes that long since it was a computer order. No refund on 1/22. I called again on 1/23 and spoke with someone named Melissa, who said that she could "see" my refund information but couldn't do it herself. She said Ms. Patel would be in between 8am and 9am, and she would ask her for the status of this refund and call me back. No return call from Melissa. Called HH corporate today, Monday 1/24, to make a complaint. It should not take me this long to get my money returned. I would have gladly had the food Thursday night, as we traveled all day and just wanted some quick food to eat. It is not our fault that they just decided to close early.. I'm not psychic, and I can't know that businesses don't abide by their published hours. I'm annoyed that I had to make 3 phone calls (so far) to get my money back. Corporate says it will take someone 48 hours to get back to me.. I think, at this point, I'm just going to dispute the charge with my credit card. I can count on one hand the amount of times I've eaten in a HH, but I can guarantee that this will be my last time spending any money there - thanks to Ms. Patel and Melissa - y'all...
Read moreWe came in for breakfast food. A delivery truck had the area blocked so we had to park our motorhome across the street. The waitress took a long time to come and take our drink order. We ordered coffee and she asked if we wanted to wait on a fresh pot. We said yes, she left and didn't return to even take our order. After a while I went to the back and asked her to please take our order. She came, brought coffee and took our order. In the meantime a family of 5 and another couple came in. She took their orders, brought their drinks and didn't offer coffee refills. It was obvious that the cook/ manager and the waitress were the only ones working. Also the manager appeard to be helping unload the truck while cooking. When we FINALLY got our food it was stone cold and no coffee refills. The waitress took off to the back and didn't return to check on us. Again, I went to the back and told the waitress that our food was cold & that we were leaving to go on down the interstate to find a restaurant with service. She talked with the manager and she said that she would re make our order for free. My husband was already going to the RV, but came back when I told him what the manager said. HE DIDN'T WANT TO STAY! Our food came and was good and hot. In the meantime the family and other couple had not been served. We travel a lot in our RV and like to stop in at most Huddle House restaurants because we like the menu and option of breakfast all day.
This location is NOT your standard Huddle House. It is a building that is shared with a convenient store. The restroom was in the store, not the restaurant. In my opinion the "Huddle House" should take away their franchise name from this location. The best part of the stop, at this location, was the other customers. We enjoyed talking about their travels and...
