I was in the mood for a wrap and found Macs while performing a Yelp search. As I wasn’t too far from the Palmetto area I decided to give it a try. I utilized the order feature that Yelp offers which is Powered by GrubHub. Upon placing my order, I received my confirmation email that my order was sent and a few minutes later I received that my order was being made. Once I knew my order was being made I headed out to Palmetto.
If going to the restaurant for the first time, your GPS may take you around to the back side in error. The restaurant is inside of the Gas Station.
Upon arrival the attendant at the register assisted me and I advised I was picking up an order. He went to check and was unable to find my order or the ticket that would have been printed out. I confirmed that the order was placed online via Yelp. Once I provided my order details the attendant checked with someone else who appeared to be a senior staff member or possible manager. Upon advising that I ordered the “Chicken Bacon Wrap” he stated, “yeah, we canceled the order or tried to. We don’t have that anymore!” At this time I pulled up my order status showing that it was still active and advising that my order was almost ready. To my dismay no further action was taken. It was as if I was no longer standing in front of him and my matter was disregarded.
I understand that Yelp and GrubHub are Third-Party providers and I didn’t place my order with Macs directly, however, the level of service I received was not only unsatisfactory, however, it was rude and unpleasant.
To rectify my matter, I placed the call to GrubHub via the Yelp app and the young lady who assisted me was pleasant and swift. Another note, if you order via Yelp, please ensure to keep your order number with you as she advised she was unable to pull my order by name or last 4 of my credit card. Upon the conclusion of our call, the GrubHub representative informed me that she canceled my order and refunded my credit card.
Overall, I am unable to rate the food as I opted not to purchase anything from Macs after my order was canceled based on the dismissive service I experienced. I understand that it is a take-out/fast-food restaurant and not an eat-in restaurant with a robust service standard, but there has to at least be a minimum standard of customer service provided...
Read moreMy wife and I have gone into this establishment daily for months. New to the Palmetto area, we were excited to find our place in the community and support our small, local businesses. They were kind and welcoming and were quickly on a first name basis. (I know this is a sales technique, but it was a nice touch) The prices were higher than all others in the area. However, we understand the price of business and chose to be loyal. We were investing in our community. We purchased gas, vapes and accessories, sodas, food etc., DAILY. This evening we ordered wings as we always do on Friday nights. When my wife tasted her wings, her mouth was on fire (this was odd because she loves spicy). She ran to the bathroom in pain. She called Mac's and told them that something was not right with the wings as they were unusually hot and asked to return them for a new order. They REFUSED. They told us that once the food leaves the store, they are unable to take them back. She was shocked. Telling them we would not be back. They called her back and stated that when we return, they would give her 50% off of her next order. We have NEVER returned food. We have NEVER complained. We have NEVER asked for a refund. This business is beloved by many in this community, and they have NO IDEA that Mac's does not value them in return. They value a dollar. They thought nothing of losing loyal paying customers over $15. Very disappointing. Most who will read this will disagree with me. I will leave you with this: I NEVER leave bad reviews. Read moreWell I had heard this place had good food but it looks like I'll never find out since they're a bunch of LIARS and now I don't want to try them anymore. I placed an order online, but when my husband went to pick it up they told him there was no order. So I called the restaurant and they told me the order wasn't in their system. I had an order number but the employee on the phone wouldn't even try to look it up and then told me the kitchen was closed! So I called the number that showed up on the transaction for a refund and was informed by them that the order had been accepted and then cancelled so my refund would process automatically. My question is how could it have been cancelled if there was no order in their system? That's what they told me....so they LIED. And that's enough to make me never want to buy anything from them ever again. Sounds like they were just ready to go home for the night to me.
