Both my husband and I are huge fans of the Kingâs Bay Subase McDonaldâs restaurant! If you want top-quality âfast foodâ then this is your best option in St. Marys/Kingsland! The food is consistently excellent. As do other, similar, restaurants, this McDonaldâs has limited their menu during the COVID-19 pandemic, to ensure that what they serve, and how they serve it, is safe. I miss some of my favorites (side salads, for example!), but I applaud the fact that they put their customersâ health and safety above their own business interests. The restaurant is so clean that I could probably eat off the floor! Itâs always clean, too. At least it has been, every time I have patronized it! Saving the best for last: Employees! Some might think that, at a high-tech, top-notch military installation, the fast-food restaurant employees would feel inferior and perhaps even resentful. Nothing could be further from the truth! These folks take pride in a job well done, and that includes taking care of their customers! I believe that customer service and caring is their top priority, along with product and personnel safety. I have some mobility issues and I am considered to be disabled. I went to the KB McDonaldâs this evening because I had been at medical appointments all day and I was exhausted! I knew that my dear husband would be, as well, after a long day at TTF! So I decided to get our dinner at the KB McDonaldâs. I always go inside because I enjoy the ambiance and friendliness of the staff there. My order was taken promptly, and any item I ordered that is currently off of the menu was discussed with me as to why it is unavailable, and when it may return to the menu. [I appreciate this; I know itâs not because someone didnât order an item, or that theyâve run out of the item.] Tonightâs visit was also memorable because KaLynn, the lovely manager-on-duty, took particularly excellent care of my needs, personally preparing parts of my order, and then, carrying my order out to my vehicle, opening my car door for me, ensuring that I had everything Iâd taken into the restaurant with me, and giving me a very kind âThank Youâ for my patronage and my compliments for her exceptional administration and leadership of the restaurant! KaLynn truly went above and beyond the typical managerâs behavior, for me. She did not cause me to feel patronized, as if I couldnât have done all of this myself had I chosen to. She asked if she could assist me, and she did. Simple as that. However, in my state of exhaustion and pain, her actions were, and are, so deeply appreciated! (If you read this review, KaLynn, please know that you treated me with dignity and respect, while assisting me at the same time. Folks who have disabilities love being treated this way! And itâs easy to get it wrong and make us feel helpless, or to force us to struggle. You achieved the perfect balance of service!). KaLynn was the consummate professional whom I needed, at the end of a very long day! Thank you, Kingâs Bay McDonaldâs, for your exceptionally wonderful service to the women and men in active service to our country, to retirees, dependent people (children and spouses), and to the DoD Civilians of the installation that you are a part of. I for one do not take your efforts for granted. You do an excellent job, with professionalism and respect, caring and pride. I think you are superb! You will always receive my business, and my...
Read moreI currently work at this location and its horrible. They give out old food to customers and give under cooked meat often. They've served non fresh meet in their quarter pounders. One of the cooks has poor hygiene, shows up unclean and doesn't wash his hands like they're supposed too. Also they still have a current employee who has been sleeping around with MARRIED sailor men and was caught by a wife who came up to her to fight her at the store, instead of firing her they kept her in the back where she wouldn't be seen and continues to work there. They also don't change their glooves as often as supoosed too and use the same gloves to grab raw and cooked food. They don't give out fresh pies or parfaits, instead they changes the times and dates that are meant to indicate they're fresh. The food also has timers so that when they go off that food is to be discarded but instead they just turn the timer off and serve the food. There's also a bug problem in the kitchen that doesn't seem to bother anyone. But worst of all is the managers in this location; the GM Mildred yells at us, throws things at us, insults us, steals our hours, steals out of our registers, is racist to black people and if we try to address the problems she makes sure you get fired or makes you quit. If we try to tell the owners anything they take us off the schedule for a week just because we want to address a problem, they rather have her steal money and turn a blind eye. She had been fired before for stealing over time money and was rehired just because they couldn't find someone else to take the position. Because of this we are to do as she says and take the abuse from her or else we get taken off the schedule or lose our job, this is not the way to run a business non the less a base business. They only clean up their act when we have an inspection from either the McDonalds people or the navy people show up. Not only that, they even ask for someone who has a dependent ID so that they can buy things from the commissary to sell to make profit and that's stealing from the men/women who serve this country. This is by far the worst place of business and employment do NOT go here to eat...
Read moreDo not go up to this location at night! Horrible food, if I could have put 0 stars, I would have! The employee's especially the manager are rude and lazy! It's just not a good experience at all! I go to different McDonald's all over Northeast Florida/Southeast Georgia and this place at night is the worst one of the all! Hands Down! Now if you go up there in the morning for breakfast or during the day for lunch, it's actually an awesome place. Just goes to show you that it's the employee's working there that make all the difference in the world! And they make how much now a days??? No excuses why they cannot do there job sufficiently and treat people with respect! Amazing how much difference the experience is actually from day to night shift! It's pretty obvious that whoever is in charge at night doesn't have a clue of how to run a restaurant and is a terrible employee so it trickles down to the people working for him, if he is terrible then they act accordingly and follow suit! If they would get rid of the manager it would be a great start, plenty of people there on day shift that are good workers that would be willing to step up and replace the nightshift manager...
