Tequila Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Georgia

Having lived in Woodstock for over 30 years, I used to refer to our town as the culinary black hole, nothing decent to talk about…happily over the last several years I have seen the culinary scene change. The latest very positive addition to our area is the newest restaurant in the chain of Tequilla Mexicano Restaurantes with locations in Dallas, Hiram and Rockmart…the chain began in 2008 and this newest launch is a wonderful contribution to our area. TMR is located at 6721 Bells Ferry Road Suite D-118 to the right of the Goodwil in the strip mall, next to Ol’ Time Barber Shop (the best mens barber I have found). From the first time we entered TMR we were cheerfully greeted and welcomed by the Manager Lazaro A. Perez Leyoa, a very dedicated young man that truly understands how to make you feel right at home and he met us immediately. After seating us Lazaro was extremely attentive as the entire staff has been the last 5 times we dined. Trying the basics, tacos, enchiladas also, (the stock salsa is very good) and my must have fajitas everything hit the mark. After learning of my love of fajitas Lazaro suggested the Fajitas Mexicanas…beef, chicken shrimp, and my favorite chorizo with peppers and onions…way more protein than veg which I really appreciate and of course the regular sides, guac, refried beans, sour cream and pico. Everything we have tried in our 6 visits has been hot, fresh, delicious and served expeditiously each and every time. A side bar...Lazaro is constantly following up and observing the floor and food flow. I also see him bussing tables and assisting the busier the shift gets. The interior is light and appropriate without being over the top , the booths are spacious and comfortable, everything is very clean and the restrooms are clean and it appears attention is paid regularly. We have had several servers, ALWAYS very friendly and attentive without bothering you. Since we have had no issues I can’t attest to their way of handling said issues (which I consider very important) however, one would have to believe that Lazaro is going to make things right. All-in-all it is a pleasure to introduce you to Tequila Mexicano Restaurante,I hope you give them a try, as I am sure you will have excellent service, friendly and efficient staff, with excellent food served timely and at the end as you are pleasantly filled (as the portions are very good), you’ll get your bill and smile as the prices are extremely fair, what more...

I stopped by late afternoon on a weekday to order a takeout ground beef taco salad. I was the sole customer at the time.

After getting my salad, I arrived home 15 minutes later, and found I'd been given a shredded chicken taco salad. It had been placed on a thin paper plate with a plastic cover sitting loosely on top. I almost tipped the whole thing over getting it out of the bag due to the flimsy, unsecured packaging.

The shell was soggy and falling apart - which was baffling after only a 15 minute drive ? - and the salad was mostly flavorless.

This was hands-down the worst taco salad I've ever had. I will not be returning to...

The best Mexican restaurant I been to in such a long time. They have savory authentic Mexican foods that I crave!! The restaurant is clean and they play some Mexican classics. My boyfriend and I love it and it’s not an expensive as other places. I get Bistec al la Mexicana and my boyfriend gets the Tequila Special, so yummy and good. I can tell they always use fresh ingredients. We stopped going to all other Mexican restaurants around Woodstock because no one does chips and salsa better than this restaurant.
