Waffle House — Restaurant in Georgia

Worst restaurant experience in a while. Waffle house at braselton and old peachtree. Okay to be fair there were only 2 workers.. im not looking for 5 star restaurants quality.. But it least 2/3 star.. I just wanted to eat and leave

Issue 1. Cleanliness .. When we got there there were 2 other occupied tables.. There are 5 booths total.. Only 1 was clean enough to sit at.. We sat down.. There was an ant crawling on the table.. We didnt think anything of it.. We ordered our food.. We continued to see ants during our whole meal.. Mentioned to waitress.. She shrugged it off.. And said oh well.. We sat at the table furthest from the door.. Oh yea there were flies flying around ... .. Not 1or 2.. Like 5 of them

Issue 2. Food : we ordered a couple things.. I LOVE waffle house and always get the same thing.. All star special.. Eggs over medium.. Ham and cheese in grits.. Sausage.. Triple hashbrown loaded.. First off.. Hashbrowns came.. It was double.. Maybe 1.5 but in no way was it a triple.. Ive had triple hashbrowns all my life.. It barely covered half the plate.. Also, the last things to come out were the sausage and waffle. And by last I meant 10 minutes after everything else came out.. Not sure how thats possible since the waffle you just throw on a machine... Lastly.. My grits had some green metal thing in it.. I showed the waitress.. She looked at it.. Shrugged it off and threw it away... No apologizes.. No explanation.. Just went about her business.. I was unable to take picture because my son is special needs and he was watching something at the time.. If i took it away he wouldve started screaming..

Issue 3: wait staff.. No apologies for the food delay or the metal thing in the food.. Never came to refill my water which was empty for about the last 30 minutes we were there...

I still tipped because I believe they did take our order and deliver it to our table..

No way am I going back though.. I Love waffle house and my daughter loves waffles.. I was hoping to make this a Sunday routine.. But...

Waffle House is not typically known for standouts and such; but when we went to WH #2175 on Braselton Hwy last weekend, standout is what we got! Now, it was still your typical Waffle House…with some greasy floors here and there, but let me tell you, our food and service made up for that! When our food came out, it tasted amazing! The cook was great, but there was a slight miscommunication on our order. Our incredible server Mark (more on him in a sec) took care of the issue right away.

Now, none of that is unheard of, but the WAY this team handled the problem was top notch! Mark acknowledged the error and said he’d get it corrected right away. He came back to the table while the new item was cooking and apologized for the error and accepted responsibility (apology not needed, as it was a very slight error, but it soooo tipped the scales in his service points!!) He returned again with the new food item promptly, with it piping hot; apologized again, and discounted a portion of the meal.

Mark was so sincere and kind during every interaction! From the moment we walked in the door, he started taking care of us like VIPs. We had drinks to our liking, extra straws, extra mayonnaise…. ALL with a giant smile and a humble, quiet spirit.

I say all that to say this, Waffle House is NOT known for service. BUT, maybe it SHOULD be. Mark was awesome! He should be teaching classes! If you’re looking for a great meal with a friendly, kind server who will treat you like an old friend, then...

Train your late night waitresses better. To say that i'm a regular is an understatement. I live less than a 30 second drive away, so I come here very often. I ordered what is generally the same thing I always order which usually comes to about $11 and some change. Why is it that today I order dang near the same thing +bacon and the order comes to $19!? You're telling me bacon cost freaking $8? Surely your menu hasn't changed that drastically in three days since the last time I ate at this particular store. I'm sorry, but at 12 A.M. the traffic in your restaurant is low. There is no reason you should have miscalculated my order to this extent; and then when I ask you to verify you come back with the same price. Either every other waitress/waiter who had previously served me the same exact meal were wrong some 20+ times, or the waitress I had tonight was wrong this time. Which is more likely? Then to make matters worse, you didn't even get my order right! Tequila (KeKe) and Kaitlin need a lesson in basic listening, reading, writing, and arithmetic. Your job can't be that difficult when there's hardly anyone in the restaurant. If I drive by here and see them, I'm immediately getting back into my vehicle and going to a different store. Train your late night...
