You should read this whole thing before visiting. This is my 3rd visit since they reopened as The Cut River Grille. The first visit was to the bar, which is quite nice. They have a decent selection considering the area. 2nd time was for dinner, I got a Ribeye steak. It was cooked as ordered, however the steak itself was lower quality. Not what one would expect for a $40 steak. The meat itself had almost no flavor and they used seasoning to try to improve it. The house veggies were soggy and overseasoned to make up for itm It wasn't terrible, but again, not worth $40. The 3rd and most recent visit may well be my last. We waited nearly 20 minutes to be seated, several servers walked by without even acknowledging us, and they were not very busy at the time either. There was maybe 20 tables being used in the entire restaurant. After being seated in the hottest corner of the bar, we were again left to ourselves for nearly 30 MINUTES waiting for water of all things, all the while watching our server take other people's order and bring out food. I realize if someone was there first they should get their order before us, that's fine. But we had to wait for 2 glasses of water? Cmon. The server we had (I won't name them), seemed entirely uninterested in their job, or providing decent service. They looked bored, and seemed annoyed we were even there. We did not feel welcome in the slightest. We felt utterly forgotten after we were sat. The food came out pretty quickly, which was a nice improvement to things at the time. I had asked for additional napkins which we never got. The waitstaff seemed more content to run around being social with each other over taking care of their customers, and undoubtedly also complain about the lack of tips they receive as a result. The food this time around was decent, but a bit pricey still. This place has a lot of potential considering how popular previous businesses have been here, however they are really falling short. Specifically with the bored, dead-eyed waitstaff and the balance between price and food quality. Streamside had its faults, but was genuinely a better restaurant while it was open, which is sad to say considering how upscale they try to make The Cut River Grille seem...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had an unpleasant experience at the Cut River Grill with my family, which included myself, my husband, our 11-year-old son, and my parents. We were a party of five, and while the food was fineātypical for the areaāthe service left much to be desired. Our server, was cold, didn't smile, offered no thank yous, and did not check on us. While this was not ideal, we were prepared to overlook it.
When the bill came, it was over $100. We paid in cash, leaving a 20% tip despite the lackluster service. We handed the bill and cash directly to our server and told her we did not need any change, thanking her as we left.
About an hour to an hour and a half later, my dad, who had made the reservation, received three persistent calls from an unknown Roscommon number. On the third call, he answered and was shocked to hear a male manager accusing him of skipping out on the bill. My dad explained that we had handed the cash directly to our server, shared the bill amount, and mentioned the tip amount. The manager asked him to stay on the line while he investigated. Fortunately, another manager, who had cleared our table, confirmed that we had indeed paid with cash.
The male manager then said he would have the server check her till again, but the damage was done. Clearly she was looking for a larger tip than the 20% we left.... We haven't heard back from them since, but we are disgusted by the accusations and the entire process. The manager should have checked the cameras or consulted with other staff members and had the server double-check her till before repeatedly calling and accusing a customer.
This experience has left a bad taste in our mouths. The restaurant's handling of the situation reflects poorly on their customer service and the integrity of their staff. Moving forward, this will be a definite no for us. I would recommend you use your credit or debit card if you choose to visit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I stopped in tonight for dinner. The hostess quickly seated us at a hightop table overlooking the patio and said that due to the busyness of the evening, our waitress would be with us in a few minutes. That was no problem for us because we were not in a hurry. However, after many minutes, we began to suspect that we had been forgotten. Sure enough, several of the wait staff started looking over at us and talking among themselves about who was going to wait on us. Actually, the word I should use is arguing over who was supposed to be waiting on us. Now, we were seated very close to where the kitchen is so we could hear everything they were saying. A couple of times, my husband looked at me and said.ā Are they talking about us??ā We finally got menus and several minutes later someone came to take our drink and dinner order. Again, they started arguing among themselves, just a few feet away from us, how about who was supposed to be waiting on us. My husband finally turned around and saidā Can you all please stop arguing and just let us enjoy our dinner!ā We did get our dinner and drinks, but after that no one came to check on us, we were not offered any refills on drinks, and I donāt know if there was any dessert menu because we were not offered one. As soon as we finished our plates, the waitress came and picked them up and never said another word to us. We were made to feel like we were a complete burden to them and they couldnāt wait for us to leave. . I also want to mention, that shortly after we sat down, two women were seated in the same area a couple of tables from us and after several minutes they had to ask who their waitress was so they could get water and menus. The wait staff definitely took away the enjoyment of our dinner and we couldnāt wait to leave. We did something that we never ever do⦠We did not leave a tip and I give no...
