The Breeze Restaurant on Lake Winnipesaukee in at 25 Dick Rd, in Gilford, NH is wonderful! I’ve been there 4-5 times now and really like it! The service is great, the location on the Big Lake is wonderful and the food is excellent! I’ve ordered lots of dishes over my visits, only thought to take pics of this last visit, Oopsie! Standouts for me were the fresh fish, the duck! Loved it! The chowders are awesome. Pretty much everything we’ve had has been great! This last time the steak tip plate was a little dry in that there were no sauces or juices on the plate. The tips were tasty and cooked well. Just the plate itself was dry dry. We had to ask for some butter for the potatoes and vege. But the flavors were nice. We love the Hawaiian touch to the menu and appreciate being around foods with which we are familiar. Parking can be tricky and it can get busy, so get there early and you won’t be sorry! The drinks that I’ve had at the bar were very tasty as well FYI.

Worth the wait for opening! Formerly Lyon’s Den, The Breeze is under new ownership and now open daily. We loved it! It’s bright and beautiful inside, with the bar overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee. The decor is made up of old photos from around the lake, and even the womens room was adorable. We shared a bottle of red wine, and tried some small plates to begin. We had the garlic prawns and they were so delicious! We also tried the duck confit sandwich, which comes on Bao buns (gluten free for all my GF friends!). The calamari was a huge portion and very flavorful. For my entree I chose the blackened mahi and it was cooked to perfection. I also had a glass of white wine- lots to choose from! My husband had the seafood saffron and can’t stop talking about it (please excuse the photo of his, as he had already dug into it!). The staff was great and although it was quite busy, we never waited long for service. Bravo to all involved.

The Breeze We’ve been anxiously awaiting checking out the new restaurant opening where The Lyon’s Den was at Gilford Town Docks. Soft opening was last week and tonight we had dinner there for the first time. First of all, the renovations they’ve done were fantastic. The fireplace make-over is gorgeous but most notably the huge bar now faces the lake with all the views. I love the modern farmhouse decor and rustic chic is what comes to mind. Anyway, it’s very comfortable, casual and elegant at the same time. Ok, back to the food. The menu is classic American in all the best ways and with all your favorites. We started with onion soup and it was excellent. There were appetizer specials, and we tried the skewered grilled shrimp and veggies. There was a chili wasabi glaze that was just right. The Haddock was excellent and came with hand cut fries and an apple slaw -so good. Cocktails were generous and perfect. Dessert offered a chocolate mousse cake, key lime pie and we choose to split the lemon curd tart which was the perfect end to a lovely Spring Day. Overall I’d give 5 stars with the suggestion to add a few more vegetarian items. Interestingly there’s a very short customer service survey enclosed with your bill asking for feedback, so I did share that. Overall, I know we’ll be back as regulars throughout the year. Wishing the new owner, and staff...

Hostess was so rude to the bachelorette party I had brunch with here, accused us of making reservations at the other location when we called other location we had not and we had proof on maid of honor phone she had called this location. Made dirty faces at us when walking by our table multiple times. We were first guests in/seated when it opened, multiple other tables received their drinks and food far before us, took 30 minutes to get any drinks including water, took 1 hr and 15 min to get any food. And once again we were the first guests in the door and were nothing but kind and respectful. When talking to the manager assured hostess would be spoken to, even after that hostess gave dirty looks and no one including manager ever offered to comp brides meal or take any percentage off. Food was ok, the only thing that saved any part of it was Grace the waitress was so sweet and trying hard to be prompt, obviously very busy and stretched thin but she was great. Will not be recommending or coming back and the hostess needs a lot of retraining on customer service and just not being a...

If I had left a review after my first meal four days ago, it would have been 5 stars. That was the first time we had gotten food from The Breeze and it was absolutely delicious. The seafood saffron had a wonderful sweetness and subtleness to the sauce, the seafood cooked perfectly. App of fried oysters was great, and the remoulade is one of the best I've had. The meal was so good that we ordered again 3 days later. I got the same app and meal because I liked it so much the first time. The oysters were terrible. They were not cleaned and every one was full of sand and crunchy. The seafood saffron was overpowering. There was so much saffron in it that it turned my stomach. The shrimp and scallop (there's only one scallop in the dish) were both quite undercooked with the slippery, almost raw texture. Only the lobster, and this time there was almost none of it, was not undercooked. I tried to get through it but I ended up throwing half of it away. I don't know if they have different chefs on different nights, but judging by the second meal, we...
