Main Street Restaurant — Restaurant in Gilliam

My husband and I have been here several times now and each time we have been extremely happy with the food and usually the service. My husband has gotten the special of the day each time and absolutely loved it. It's like good home cooking in a quaint atmosphere. It is his new favorite restaurant, edging out the chain restaurants available in Shreveport and Bossier. The last time we visited we were a little disappointed with the service, the waitress brought our food and then never came back to check on us at all until it was time to bring the check. It seems that she had important cell phone calls to take, but because the food was so awesome we forgave her and will be back many more times. The owner and staff are RACIST... My family and I waited for over an hour for food that never came. We ordered the special and observed white consumers who came in after us get the special but we were told “they had no more”. The white patrons were being seated and served with full attentive respect and we could barely get drinks or engagement from our waitress. The manager and/or owner whatever he was, had zero regard for our concerns , which led me to the certainty that it was intentional. My family has been pillars of the community of Gilliam for many years and this is unacceptable. Black people do not and I repeat do not spend your money with these racist, ignorant people. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I can't say enough great things about the Main Street Restaurant. Upon walking in you are greeted by a lovely host. The environment is very warm and inviting. Once you've sat down you are again greeted by a nice young waitress with a smile on her face that tells you she loves her job. The Menu is large featuring 4 pages. They have it all. From huge burgers with fries, pastas, seafood, fish, steaks, frog leg dinner platters,country fried steak, and lots of variety of appetizers. Crab claws, Onion rings ,cheese sticks. You name it. We both enjoyed the DELICIOUS country fried steak that was paired with fresh steamed broccoli and homemade creamy mashed potatoes and garlic toast.
