What a wonderful find! Wife and I were looking for wineries that had food - and not just crackers & cheese. Gilmanton Winery seemed like a good bet to try. Were we ever glad we did! We happened to go on a Sunday when they were serving brunch and brunch specials.

The food was amazing! Not just for a winery, but comparable to any higher end restaurant in the area. I had the Surf 'N Turf Benedict (smoked brisket and lobster served on toasted muffins with poached eggs and hollandaise). Wife had the Lemon Ricotta pancakes. Although the food took a bit to arrive, but not unreasonably so. It arrived hot and fresh - so clearly any delays were likely due to a busy kitchen. Both dishes were amazing! Tasty and well balanced.

We also had two flights - one fruity and one red. The fruity flight was not at all overly sweet and the combo of Raspberry, Strawberry, Green Apple and Blueberry gave a nice range. We ended up purchasing two of the Raspberry and Green Apple on our way out. I had the red flight and the wines were a bit on the young side - but given this is a relatively new winery, still very good and I would recommend folks give it a try.

The service was very friendly with the owners clearly pitching in to help (versus other places where the owners simply sit behind a counter and bark orders). Both were friendly and clearly cared that all guests were having a good experience. We understand the restaurant had only be open for a few months. Despite this, they overall experience was very good. Finally, I will add the prices were very reasonable - (brisket and lobster dish was $25 - a very fair price for what was included!). No question, the wife and I will be back. We wish this location much success...

This was our first time to the winery, though the couple we went with are veterans of brunch and dinner. Or visit was part of a Valentine's package that included a wine tasting (you got a bottle of your preferred wine included with dinner). There were light appetizers available before being seated for dinner. The dinner package included assorted breads, soup, wedge salad, an entree choice of chicken or beef and a choice between a lemon custard offering or flourless chocolate cake with berries and whipped cream for dessert. During the meal we were entertained by a talented woman singer who interspersed her musical numbers with some brief, loosely Valentine themed anecdotes. While that could have been intrusive, it was not. The balance was such that we could enjoy her performance and still have conversation with our dinner companions. The owners and wait staff were very attentive. Sunny engaged us with friendly banter before our meal and Marshall engaged each table toward the end of the meal to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction. Though we did not opt in, a 20 minute sleigh ride was available for a nominal charge. We felt it was too cold but many couples took advantage. All in all a nice take. I can see us doing it again. The winery is a bit of the beaten track but will...

My wife and I recently went to this location for lunch. As you approach, it seems like you might be lost because it is several hundred feet down a dirt road - that is already in a fairly remote area. The grounds are well groomed and the parking is plentiful for the size of the restaurant. We ate outside and you get a nice view of the surroundings and a few vines. The food was pretty amazing. Both my wife and I loved what we ate and the cost is very reasonable. We did get the ciabatta bread with marinara sauce appetizer, so were unable to finish our sandwiches, as we ate every bite of the bread. My wife is vegetarian and I am not, and both styles of sandwich were excellent.

The wine is on par with other wines from New Hampshire. Honestly, I probably would prefer these over other offerings. If you are looking for a $40 California Cab, it is not that. But if you set your expectations, you can enjoy it well, paired with the excellent food choices. The ownership is new, so I'm curious to see what kind of wine they will make. Obviously, everything that is being served now was made by the previous owner.

This location is about an hour from my home, and I would definitely make...

Such a rustic cozy feel! Never had brunch at a winery before, but more should do this, it’s a great idea! Ate everything too fast to take pictures, but I included a photo of the menu to help. Our party of 5 ordered the set Brunch Menu which included 5 courses: Fruit plate, fried dough, French toast, scrambled eggs/home fries/bacon, and lastly berry cobbler for dessert. Each course comes out one at a time, and is served family style. Once you’ve finished the 4th course you can ask for more! I like how thoughtful that rule is, prevents you from wasting food or over indulging. Really delicious food, definitely recommend it! There is also a tiny gift shop at the front of the store.

My best friend lives in Gilmanton and we visited the winery while I was there. Very cozy environment, makes you feel right at home. All of the decor is very rustic and historical which adds to the coziness and home like feel of the winery. The wines were all delicious. We each tried six types of wine which was $9 a piece. We also ordered a traditional cheese tray which came with grape syrup and crackers and was absolutely delicious. I bought two bottles of wine also. Everything was wonderful and reasonably priced. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable and the owners were extremely welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be coming back next time I’m in town!

Visited Gilmanton Winery while on my bachelorette trip this past weekend. We were greeted by Major, the resident winery dog, who helped show us to our seats. The employees called us their “guests” rather than customers and we truly did feel like guests. Service was quick and all employees were so kind. When deciding to stay for another glass of wine or visit another place in the area, our server spoke highly of another winery a few towns over as well as other shops and things to do nearby instead of trying to convince us to stay and spend more money. Overall a great experience - oh and the wines and snacks were delicious too!
