For all of those who want a quick read - EAT HERE NOW - BEST FOOD I HAVE EATEN OUT FOR SOME TIME - FRESH, HOT, & EXCELLENT PRICE POINT! Why are still reading, put this in the GPS and go now. YOU WILL THANK ME LATER!! There is a broad menu, with something for everyone.
So just to be clear, I hardly ever do any reviews and/or ratings unless the food, service, or atmosphere is bad and I would want anyone I care about to spend time or money there. So for this review to be here, you know it has to be good, if you know me.
That being said, this has to be the best place I have eaten in a looooooong time. Since the pandemic, so many restaurants have just become a paycheck for most staff and service is mediocre at best. Most places just donβt care, and charge you full price for half the quality and service.
That is NOT the case here at Glencoe General Store. When you first walk in, your senses are awoken by the smell of the wood fire oven and the clean atmosphere. My bride and I had the chili cheese fries, a turkey sandwich, fried pickles, and a small pizza. OMG is was sooooo goooood. The best pizza I have had for some time, and the turkey sandwich was so fresh and so good. I canβt put the goodness into words to give it the proper justice. Anyone around Glencoe KY, YOU HAVE TO GO HERE ASAP!!! As I stated above, you will thank me later. Merry early Christmas to everyone looking for a great place to eat, especially with the family...
Β Β Β Read moreGlencoe may be small but their Glencoe General Store is a main staple for this town. We stopped there for lunch on our way to Backwood Acres B&B and were very pleasantly surprised! The staff were friendly and helpful. You order and pay for your food there at the deli-looking counter then have a seat in the eating area and they bring your food to you. They have fountain drinks or can/bottled drinks to choose from. My husband and I had the chicken salad sandwich which was excellent and very filling. They had small chopped apple pieces in the salad- very tasty! The eating area is somewhat small but clean and organized. There were a couple of tables that seated 4-6 but most tables seated 2-4 people. That shouldnβt be a dealbreaker because the food is excellent and Iβm pretty sure you can get it to-go (I saw a couple people eating in their car outside in the parking lot as we left). We didnβt utilize the βstoreβ part but there were things there to buy such as wine; and I even saw a crossword puzzle book and word search book- perfect for those who want to get away and relax in a quiet, sleepy little town. I would definitely go there again and recommend it to anyone looking for good food in a...

Truly a page out of time and then a fully restored 1929 Model A pulls up. The have brick fired pizza, which was excellent, and other eats that all looked and smelled great. The owner and staff made you know you were welcome the moment your foot hit the front porch. There is indoor and outdoor seating, a farmers market that runs every other Saturday and a dog walk. I was on an 880 mile bike trip and 250 miles of rural KY in. They filled my water supply, gave me a charging station and good conversation. This was one of the high spots in my trip and took me back 40 years to when people were naturally kind and friendly. If you drive through and don't stop you are missing an experience of a lifetime in this day and age. Thank you to Glencoe Country Store for giving me back my GPS and Godspeed on the rest...
