Las Margaritas Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Glidden

Glidden is a halfway point between where I live and where my family lives so we met at Las Margaritas over Thanksgiving weekend to visit each other. Walking in, the restaurant is very clean, there is a fully stocked bar, and we are greeted immediately.

We sit at a booth and check out the menu, which has so many options, but the descriptions of the food on the menu are very clear so you know exactly what it is. Our server was very energetic and very happy to see us, he made us feel very welcome. We ordered and our food was ready pretty quickly.

But the amount of food we got for the price was amazing! My dad was excited that for his steak fajitas it was a well-presented steak, cut into strips, rather than mixed in pieces with the vegetables. The plate with my Hawaiian Chicken Fajitas was still sizzling when he set it down. I really liked there was a tortillas container to use as many as you needed, rather than just get the three per other restaurants. I certainly could not finish my meal, but our server mentioned dessert and I ordered a fried ice cream to split between the three of us. The fried ice cream is a generous serving, presented beautifully with chocolate sauce and whip cream.

The atmosphere is open, well-lit, and the music is not too loud. Soccer was playing on the TV. Our server changed into his soccer jersey when the game started which I thought was fun.

Overall, I am very happy with this restaurant and would recommend to drive even 30-40 minutes to go have some if you enjoy a good...

We were recommended to try this place, so we did. Chips were stale on the chips and salsa. The staff did a great job of upselling the white cheese dip. The cheese dip and the salsa were good.

I had the shrimp fajita which came with rice and beans and salad with sour cream and guac. The shrimp was grilled with mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and squash. That's a far cry from the normal onions, tomatoes and peppers. The veggies were overdone and not very good, as well as weird. The beans and rice were not seasoned very well and the rice was overcooked and mushy. Overall it was not the meal we were expecting.

The food was amazing, the waitress was fun, engaging and attentive. My only complaint is that the A/C was not working and it got really warm in the back. The bathrooms were very hot and not able to withstand the heat for a time. I believe/ hope that we just picked a bad day to show up. Honestly I would give it 4.5 stars if I could and not the 4 with my review. I recommend it to anyone who just wants great food and amazing prices. The atmosphere is spit on too.
