The Office Bar and Grille — Restaurant in Gloucester Point

My review of The Office is based on a Saturday afternoon visit so I really cannot speak about the evening crowd situation. HOWEVER, I have to say.... I was blown away! The servicer was top notch! Attentive, not intrusive or bothersome, but was paying attention from afar to notice low drinks. We were a party of 4, and she made a point to confirm with us things were good and anything we needed was taken care of immediately. Courteous and friendly, all around great! I can only hope all the staff is as good as she was. Proper fitted masks worn correctly and proper distance always followed. Ok NOW to the food.... It was AMAZING!! Inventive options along with the basic choices ... Pictures being added with the names, so look for those. We all got something different and I like to sample different things so that was perfect for me! Let me say this...I'm a bit of a mozzarella stick freak. I get them EVERYWHERE I go. I have to say, these were the absolute BEST I've EVER had! Perfectly blended seasoning in the outer crust, not over or under cooked, no excess grease. No dipping sauce necessary, only an enhancement of flavor. I'll return and might not be hungry but I'll be certain to grab some mozzarella sticks anyways! Highly recommend hitting this hidden gem in Gloucester. I only wish I could remember the server's name, I THINK she'll know who she is. I mentioned a review to come. Food was ok but our server was pretty bad. There were 5 of us at the table for lunch. My order wasn't served along with the others. It took awhile for the server to come back to the table and realize I didn't have my order. She asked if I wanted chips while I waited which I said yes to. Chips never came and my meal finally came out when the rest of the table were finishing up their meals. Upon bringing my meal the server noted the others were about done and asked about togo boxes. I had about 3 bites of my order when the server brought out the togo boxes. Bills were handed out and I asked why she didn't bring chips earlier and she said, " They came out the same time as your meal and I knew you would want your yummy meal and not chips." The server also overcharged $2.00 for one of my table mates meal and upon complaint said, " Thats what came up on the register so I have to charge that." She then handed my table mate a $1.00 bill. Sad the service was so bad especially when we were the only folks sitting at a table for lunch. No plans...

We really wanted to like this place as we are new to the area and reviews seemed good. Atmosphere was nice, but service was extremely lacking. Not even an attempt by the server to smile or be friendly. Sat at the bar and waited several minutes before even being acknowledged, let alone offered a drink or menu. Actually never even given a menu and looked at it on their website instead. Upon getting the bill, we realized the prices have gone up from what’s posted (and copyrighted as 2023). The chicken sandwich is definitely not worth the menu price and was totally flavorless despite adding the sauce (up charge). The broccoli side was actually the best thing. The wings were decent as well but didn’t come with celery as advertised (and, standard for wings). Served the food after someone who came in way after us and with no utensils or napkins.
