Skeeters Pub — Restaurant in Gloucester Township

Ah...Skeeters. My wife and my favorite local place. We're in our 50's and never feel out of place there. All ages fit in here, although admittedly, we've never been there past about 11:00 PM, LOL.

Their food is very good and they have a nice beer selection. As far as service, you'd be hard pressed to find a local bar whose servers hustle like they do here - across the board, even when it's crowded they move very quickly throughout the bar and outside. You rarely have to wait, but yet they're not pushy. I never understood servers standing around as food/drinks = sales = more tips. Skeeter's servers and management have that figured out!

They have a nice deck outside during the summer and nicer spring and fall weather. Nice shade with umbrellas, and how the sun sets - not too hot in the evenings. Always good service out there too. They have a couple of TVs out on the deck to watch the local games.

Inside during football season, they have the entire slate of NFL Sunday games on multiple TVs, with each TV labeled which game for 1:00 and 4:00. You can pretty much see any NFL game from just about any seat in the place. It's always nice to see lots of Dads with their sons watching football on Sunday afternoons.

This is where we saw Villanova beat North Carolina for the NCAA Championship on a buzzer beater with my son, daughter, wife and friends. It was crowded and crazy in there when Villanova won, and the service was outstanding. Skeeter's will always hold a special place because of that night. I'm giving 5 stars for the bartender who took care of me tonight, and the wings! The bartender's name was Kristen, not sure if she spells it with and e or an I 😅 Anyways, she was awesome. Very attentive and accommodating. It was a really busy Friday night, as I came late planning to have a few drinks at the bar and some food on my way home from work. (I'm also a bartender/server myself so i got here late) Kristen greeted me promptly and made my drinks exactly how I asked (I was by the server well so I watched her make them). She was nice and genuine during conversation and throughout my entire experience. I asked her opinion on some of their wing sauces and I'm glad I chose the sauce I did! I got the hot honey BBQ wings and the sauce was delicious! However, I mostly want to compliment the wing quality when it comes to the food. I'm a really picky wing eater and hate when wings seems chewy or have too much dark meat. All the meat in the wings were white and cooked to a perfect crisp. Not to mention the price of them, especially now! For 10 it was only 14. Much less than many places and the quality is there. I recommend stopping in if you haven't been here before, whether its for drinks or food. I haven't tried a lot of food but I will come here specifically alone for the the wings food wise. Normally I have a pretty good experience at Skeeter's, which is what keeps me going back. But this particular night the bar was almost empty except for a few groups of patrons at tables and a few people scattered around the bar. There were what looked like 2 bartenders on duty, a young man and a young woman, both of which were grouped together in one corner of the bar with 2 off duty employees. Both bartenders kept their backs to us and didn't glance over at us or come over to check on us throughout our visit, so we had to literally flag them down whenever they seperated from the group to check on customers closer to them. We stayed long enough for 1 drink a piece, a light dinner, and a short bathroom break. During the 3 or 4 times we managed to get the attention of one of the bartenders, they let us know through their body language, (and the female even mentioned it in a comment), that they were not happy about seperating from their group of friends to serve us. For that, I give this particular visit 1 star for service. That being said, the atmosphere is always awesome.
