Lucky's — Restaurant in Gold Hill

Great small local bistro bar. Friendly place with good prices and good food. Taco Tuesday is awesome! Karaoke on weekends. Worth a drive out. On a side note, the lady who left the bad review saying an employee wouldn't allow her "service" dog into the place, there's a couple issues with her comments that I had to respond to. First "service" animals in Oregon DO NOT have a "card" or a "certification" as she claims. Second, unless you can inform a business as to what "function" your service animal provides, they do not have to let you in. Oregon law ONLY allows two questions when inquiring about a service animal and that's 1) is the animal a SERVICE animal (not a companion animal) and 2) what service does the animal provide? Such as a blind person and a guide dog. Lastly, any establishment that prepares food, serves food, etc has exceptions to the ADA rules due to sanitary issues. I've worked in the security, event and food service industry for over 26 years and know what I am speaking of. 9/10 "service" animals in this valley are just pets that people exploit the privacy rules of the ADA. I think its a shame that people lie and cheat the ADA system. I'm all for true service animals and the work they do is amazing. So yes it angers me a bit when folks try to BS me and I can't say otherwise. I wish Oregon would require doctor certification and animal certification and requirements. Sorry for carrying on just a "PET"...

Lucky's was the most important bar to me during my stay in Southern Oregon. This bar has poetry, rock'n'roll poetry. If you area curious traveller like me, searching for new stories to have in your personal diary or a new shortfilm for your own memory this is it! I bet that this kind of places are the ones that inspired directors like David Lynch or Quentin Tarantino. Simplicity and lot of genuine lovers, lovers of music, of jamming, of sharing, motorcyvle fanatics and simple conversations with lovely people from the country side area of Oregon. Most of the enviroment is mid 40's and older people. But trust me I'm 33 and every time I jumped into this place I felt younger... please if you loocking for meaningfull stories or just observe a cultural place go here. Special reconmendation if you apreciatte good good live music you should...

Love this place! It's always been friendly and laid out. They have a back patio That is very nice. Their food is excellent for being a bar. They're drinks are very generous and the bartenders are very sweet. They have live bands on the weekend, and once a month they hold a birthday potluck with a band and it's also a jam! Don't scared their bikes parked out front. Yes.... But everybody inside is just very very friendly and accommodating. I've been going there for you years... They also have a Lucky's 2 in Shady Cove, That is just as nice and they have a bigger stage outside. Instead of the Lucky's in Gold Hill, the stage is inside....
