Patti's Kitchen — Restaurant in Gold Hill

This place is a real hidden gem! I went here yesterday for the first time, and I was very pleasantly surprised. I'll admit that was a little put-off by the appearance when I saw the building, and the inside looks a little worse-for-wear; however, what the restaurant lacks in appearance, it certainly makes up for in the food and service. First of all, the portions are huge and prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. On top of that, it really is delicious. They have some of the best biscuits and gravy I have ever had. The biscuits were light and fluffy, and gravy had some great flavor, not bland and boring like that at other local diners. The Philly omelet also tasted great; I'm not sure how many eggs they use, but it was enormous, too! And to top it all off, the service was very welcoming and friendly. The waitress (who I assume is also the owner) kept coming around to check on us and fill our waters and coffee. I can't recommend this place enough, and I will definitely be back! First of all I would like to address the last review about someone feeling "targeted " for there color my wife and I are Hispanic and have been coming to the restaurant for a few years now and the thought of anyone on this restaurant staff targeting people because of the race seems absolutely absurd to me we get the best service from Patty's that we get anywhere around from the owners to the dishwashers always very kind and go out of their way every single time I'm in this restaurant to make sure we are well taken care of they even warm my sugar free syrup for me every time so to say that about them is completly ridiculous and as far as the wait yeah your gonna wait but thats expected at a place this good the food is always hot fresh great portions incredible staff and great atmosphere I dont go anywhere else for breakfast no one...

I am a school bus driver, and have gone there on occasions - on Wednesday mornings. I was shocked at how slow I was treated, in a way that they made made me feel so unimportant, (my needing to leave within 45 minutes). For how pricey it is, I need to receive my order faster, and the Bill quicker. The food was pretty good. UPDATE: I just now saw their response to my critique. They said "they are not a fast food restaurant, and I should go to McDonalds. Wow. I have 45 minutes, and somehow Triple Tree managed to get me served, and out the door in 25 minutes.
