My recent visit to The Harbor in Corsicana was a genuinely enjoyable experience, with a mix of solid food, good service, and a scenic location that made for a wonderful dining outing.
Food: The dishes at The Harbor were well-prepared and satisfying. The grilled fish was a highlight, cooked nicely with a subtle smoky flavor. The mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, and the fries were crispy and seasoned well, making them a reliable side dish.
The fried pickles were a fun appetizer—crispy and tangy with a ranch dipping sauce that complemented them well. The seafood platter offered a good mix of shrimp and hushpuppies, both of which were tasty. The grilled chicken salad was a fresh and light option, featuring tender chicken and crunchy croutons, a solid choice for a lighter meal.
Service: The service at The Harbor was commendable. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that our needs were met without being overbearing. An incident during our visit underscored their professionalism: when one of our glasses was accidentally dropped, multiple members of the staff rushed over immediately to ensure no one was hurt by the broken glass. Their swift and caring response left a positive impression and showed that they actually care.
Ambiance: The setting of The Harbor is perhaps its most unique feature. The waterfront views are certainly a draw, providing a relaxing backdrop that adds to the dining experience. The indoor area is cozy with its lakeside theme, while the outdoor seating allows you to take in the scenic views of the water. It's a nice place to unwind and have some great food.
Overall Experience: The Harbor in Corsicana offers a solid dining experience with well-executed dishes, good service, and lovely views. It’s definitely a great spot to enjoy a meal by the water. If you're in the area, it’s worth a visit—I had a great time and would...
Read moreMy boyfriend’s parents took us out for dinner there and prior to going they raved about the place. This is one of the few times where you build up certain expectations and they are beyond met! I will make the drive to come here again. It is one of my favorite restaurants now. We started off with a shrimp appetizer and fried calamari. My goodness. The shrimp. Succulent, plump, juicy and tasty. They serve it over ice so it stays fresh. And they’re huge! The calamari was breaded thinly and crispy. So perfect. Still had that bite to them. Everyone loved their food. I got the salmon with a baked potato and asparagus. That was the best, the best, salmon I’ve ever had. It was cooked to perfection. Flaky, buttery, and soft, all the while the skin underneath was crispy, staurated in the delicious bourbon maple glaze. I got to taste the burger my boyfriend got and I for certain will order that next time. It was thick and had that char grill flavor to it. So good! Someone got the loaded fries and I wouldn’t know where to begin describing how tasty those were. There were a few mac n cheese sides at the table so I definitely got to try that. I am not a mac n cheese person so for me to say it was mouthwatering says a lot. It came out piping hot and fresh. It’s baked so the top is crunchy and underneath you have this gooey cheesiness, the cheese pull as you dip in and out is insane! I will say it is a no frills restaurant where you can dress however but as soon as you come in they are so welcoming. It’s hard to find a place where their service meets their food but this place goes beyond that. Our waitress was so patient, understanding and super attentive. Even the owner came by and made sure we were having a good time and enjoying the food. Although it was 9 of us we all got the attention we needed. Can’t write enough about the place, the people and the food really. All...
Read morePlease follow us on Facebook and Instagram at SNDTravels. Nice find in what seemed like the middle of nowhere. Traveling with the folks and hungry got to looking on maps and this was about the only thing around. Read the great reviews and noticed it was right on the lake (always a plus). To start they brought out small rolls and honey butter. Very good and not overfilling before the meal. Mom and dad split a hamburger steak with fries and candied carrots. They both stated that the steak and gravy were very good and flavorful. Diane had the small seafood combo with fried catfish and grilled shrimp, fries and green beans. I had the small fried catfish with green beans and coleslaw. Both of us agreed that the catfish, while not crispy, was seasoned very well. The cornmeal breading was excellent. The grilled shrimp were cooled perfectly and again seasoned well. The green beans are sometimes taken for granted in restaurants but these were done with bacon and once again seasoned well. The french fries looked hand cut and were also excellent. The coleslaw was good but not special like the other items. The only complaint I had was that my small plate of catfish was too small. Diane had a small plate but recieved a few more pieces than me. My small strips probably would not have added up one full fillet. Overall, two thumbs up....
