I'm giving JalisTaco 4 stars in the hopes that they continue to improve on their already good tasting food.
I'm giving their carne aside fries 3 stars. The fries were so crunchy that it tasted like I was eating Ruffles or Lays potato chips. I like when fries are crispy because the toppings usually cause the fries to get soggy; but these are beyond crispy, almost burnt.
The cheese was also cold, and the flavor was lacking. The whole dish was very dry and relatively disappointing considering it was $15. I will say that the portion size was good enough to overlook some failings. If they didn't over cook the fries so much, and maybe provided some consumme to offset the dryness, I would give them 4 stars.
I'm giving the queso birria tacos 4 stars despite the $15 price because the flavor profile was pretty authentic. The consumme wasn't overly seasoned or greasy either.
All in all, I can see myself going back for more. They also have a pretty well groomed menu, so you're not overwhelmed by all of the choices like some other Mexican style restaurants. With it being immediately off the I-10 freeway, it's comparable to a fast food restaurant, and would be a great late night stop off point...
Read moreWe were rolling west coming back from Joshua Tree National Park and were starving. I found this taco truck open until 10 PM!
The gentleman greeted us and everyone was so nice and welcoming.
I decided to try some new things & old things.
The Torta! Wow, amazing. I loved the Telera bread, with the Asada & Al Pastor, lettuce, cilantro, jalapeño, onion, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and green sauce. Everything was delicious, fresh, and the flavor was amazing. I would recommend.
Horchata! I donât remember what is all in this but itâs so freaking delicious! Cinnamon Toast Crunch Milk flavor that just hits differently. Itâs sweet , but so tasty.
I never got to the burrito đŻ & took it home. The Torta was so big I could only eat half.
My beautiful wife loved the queso tacos with Asada and was very happy. She also got the watermelon Fresca and I tried it. Like a piece of watermelon in a cup. Phenomenal flavor.
I literally stumbled onto this gem and would definitely go back if in the area. Love the setup with the dining room. Such a nice break from the road.
It was noisy for a bit when what sounded like an airplane took off. That surprised me.
The service...
Read moreAfter reading many reviews about this place being too expensive for what it was, I decided to check it out. The place has a great feel to it. I love the concept. Unfortunately nothing stood out. The tortillas they use are just meh, the sauces (red and green) where just ok. The "asada" is not asada, it's just pan grilled, weirdly seasoned meat. I did also try a quesabirria, and that one was good. Not WOW, but good. I would have that again and I would go back to try something else on the menu just because of the atmosphere. Its welcoming, clean, had enough shade during the hot lunch hours and the staff is friendly. I travel for a living and man is it hard for people to get Carne Asada right đ. They have a porta potty and a hand washing station as well as...
