Billy's Bar Bbq — Restaurant in Gordo

Sat across the road working in my car for about twenty minutes looking at, and smelling, this place (smelled great). Finally drive over at about 6:55. There were four employees inside. At I drove in, one of them saw me and quickly turned off the "Open" sign. I sat there for a few minutes dumbfounded, thinking, "That's horrible for business." Them I came on Google to see they're open til 8pm. So I decided to walk up--the smoker was still going. The door was unlocked, so I walked in. When the lady came out to the counter, she said, "we're closed." I told her Google said they closed at 8, and she responded, "Well, I guess Google is wrong," then laughed and said, "I'm not online like I should be. I probably shouldn't hang up on them" (referring to Google?) This is a town with nothing in it anyway. You people ought to learn how to take care of...

This is one of those small town secrets that hits the nail on the head. Jim n Nix does not come close to the flavors in this joint. The dine in area itself is a very small space, but when the food arrives, I forget about it. The BBQ is perfectly smoked and the sauce is the best I've ever had. The sides are great. I love ordering the BBQ baked potato. As an appetizer the BBQ fries are out of this world. Negatives would be the bathrooms & need for remodeling in the dining area but because the food is so amazing I can't give anything...

Poor service and highly priced food. I ordered a takeout Barbecue and fries. I got there in the time they said. When i walked in, they looked at me like why are you here. Did not have my order, did not even take it. Had to wait on food for 15 MIN anyway. 1 Barbecue was almost $6 and fries was gonna be a total of $8. I did not get the fries needless to say. Sams Smokehouse is only 30 MIN away and there food and service is great! Food half the price! Will not be back to this hole in...
