I was in Gore for the first time and wanted to stop somewhere for lunch I couldn't get back home. I realize there is at least one other location, but chain or not, it was new to me. And it was amazing.
It's worth going for the salad bar alone. Everything was fresh and it had anything you could want on your salad. When you have pickled okra, green olives AND black olives on your salad bar, you clearly know how to pack a salad bar. And I cannot emphasize this enough: It was FRESH. It looked like the lettuce had been bought that morning.
The pizza? Very good. I loves me some pizza but I'm hardly an expert on it. Like the salad bar, they were very diligent about making sure things on the pizza buffet were fresh. When a pie was a little past it's prime, a new one came out.
The staff was super-nice. A kind lady came around with a fresh chicken-bacon-ranch pie and I didn't even have to get my bohonkus out of my chair. Fresh and piping hot and SO good.
The atmosphere is simple, with a few walled off areas. There's a TV in the main lobby area if you want to watch sports while you gnarsh. The place was functional, not fancy, and it was SPOTLESS. Even the rest room was clean.
With a drink, it was about $11.00 before tip. And it was a steal at that price. I don't know how many Gambino's there are, but if they're all run that way and you're anywhere near one, it's a must-to stop when you're wanting to overeat pizza and...
Read moreMy family and I stopped here for lunch recently on our visit to gore the place are great-grandparents we're both born and raised we are all visiting from California first off I'd like to say the three stars go strictly 2 the facts the employees probably the owners we're very kind people and you could tell they work hard and given that it's one of the few restaurants in town I'd like to see it how success and be able to serve the community for many years to come as far as the pizza goes it's not that great in fact even that may be a stretch it may have been due to the fact are Pizza King from the lunch buffet which sometimes the pizza is lower-quality that's in the buffet but I couldn't imagine the non Buffet Pizza being that much better then what they were serving hopefully they can make improvements to their pies and become a real great pizza shop 4 this great little town or I could just be some cuckoo from out of town who has no idea what pizza should taste like and 2 people who live in Gore this is the best pizza in the world either way I wish this place the best of luck I enjoyed my stay in Gore it's such a cute town I'm so glad I got to visit the place my great-great- grandparents decided to settle down and raise their families may God bless...
Read moreWe always have a nice time at Gambino's. The staff is polite and if there's ever a problem they fix it very quickly. They obviously care about their customers. The food is really good, as well. Gambino's has a nice and intimate atmosphere as most other customers don't dine in, they only carry out, so if you get one of the side rooms, you mostly have the place to yourself. They also offer a build your own large pizza option which makes for some really creative pizzas. And they are one of the few pizza places in the area that offers a gluten free and keto pizza. They also have wings and a salad bar if you're...
