Went on a Wednesday and the place was packed. Cool that means good food usually. Server was nice and quickly got our drinks (cans or bottles only... no free refills). Server took asked what we wanted, we ordered mozzarella sticks, garlic cheese bread, a large pizza and a mini pizza. They haven't been able to get their mozzarella sticks in (okay, why isn't that posted somewhere?) Not a big deal... our pizza comes out and was supposed to be Pep, bacon, feta.... instead we got pep, bacon, pineapple. After stating that we didn't ask for pineapple to the man who brought our food, the waitress came out with a little bit of an attitude and "swearing she heard me say pineapple".... (I'm sorry that's what you thought you heard, but that's not my fault. How do those two even sound similar?) Between having my five year old daughter there, and the attitude of the waitress qt that point, I was definitely not going to wait for a remake so I told them I'd just pick the pineapple off, which the server eagerly agreed to, and brought me a cup of feta also telling me that they would only charge me for a small because of the mistake... I appreciate the gesture, but now I have pineapple flavored pizza that I quickly discovered was on a crust made from dough that I don't believe was fully proofed (based on working in a small pizza restaurant for 4 years and helping make dough everyday). At that point, I lost my appetite, paid the bill tipped and left not quite satisfied and knowing the stomachache from the dough was coming. Perhaps we will try again if we ever come back, but definitely not...
Read moreIn case you order the Margarita Pizza expecting a Margherita Pizza, it’s not. It’s taco pizza...
I don’t know if the owners look at the reviews, but if they do, they should google image search “Margherita Pizza” because what you’re serving is NOT IT.
I guess it’s partially my fault, since I didn’t ask what is on it, but I feel like I shouldn’t have to.
2 stars, for the disappointment. Change the name of your weird “Award winning” Margarita Pizza, it’s taco pizza.
So first off, don't be taken back by the small town vibe, and simple setup for this quaint restaurant. When you enjoy pasta, or pizza, this is an absolute must try restaurant. The staff is attentive, even with constant and I mean constant through the door take out orders (always a good sign) you never feel like you are forgotten about. Friendly and near family feeling atmosphere if dining in, with generous portions.
Pasta all made from scratch which o can say is some of the best I've had, growing up with a grandfather straight from Italy. Pure heaven. The sauce is sweet and flavorful. Subtle hints of spices, no after dinner heartburn or anything you expect from our of a jar sauce. I must say it's nice to find a place that does it so well.
The owner came out and touched base while we waited, got to know him a bit, and it's great to meet the face and family history of a place like that. Makes it more worthwhile eating there!
The pizza had very generous toppings, sliced meatballs as recommended was no disappointment! And honestly for the money I challenge you to find better food anywhere around at even close to the same pay. Every year we come up to camp and visit, it's now a tradition for our family to stop in and done with Mary's
Thanks for...
