I had been getting over a cold, so what's better than to eat some nice steaming Pho?
Noodlelicious is a casual location and specialises in vietamese Pho, sandwiches and other appetizers. This location is usually is pretty warm inside and isn't far from my drive home. They give you silverware, but if you want chopsticks they have them in a container on the table so you don't need to ask. All are wins in my book.
We ordered the a large meat ball Pho, a large Shimp Pho, shrimp spring rolls, shrimp egg rolls, and two Taro bubble teas. I like the broth at this location. It is not fishy like other Pho places I have tried and is not hot and spicy unless you want it to be. I could eat this alone all day long. Meat ball is my go to because sometimes it is hard for me to chew other meats. These are big meatballs so they quarter them up and put them in the broth. They will also try to accomodate any special requests if they can. The Pho will come with a side plate with sliced fresh pepper, which I think is jalapeno, and bean sprouts to put in the soup. Sometimes the jalapeno is just too hot, so I let it swish in the hot broth just for a few seconds before removing. The eggrolls are smaller ones with a choice of pork, vegetable or shrimp. They come with a side of vietamese sweet chili sauce. This is similar to Mae Ploy brand and will additional fine slices of carrot in it. This one of my favorite types of sauces, no corn syrup sweet as others with an interesting texture. The Sping rolls were my husband's favorite. It came with a peanut satay flavored sauce, with maybe a plum or hoisin flavor added in? He claimed it reminded him of mushu sauce. I liked it as it had peanut but not too much peanut. The taro bubble tea is another favorite. It is the light purple one with dark purple tapioca pearls in it. I like the bubble teas here because they are thicker and remind me more of a smoothie. In fact, we had our first bubble teas here. I get them else where and am usually...
Read moreWent to the restaurant on a Saturday after lunch rush around 1:30-2pm. I walked in and was ignored by a young female worker by the door. I Waited a couple minutes and then was asked if I was dining in. She appeared rushed and overwhelmed or in a bad mood. I couldn’t tell. I said I wanted to order for carry out and she walked passed me as I responded. Not much acknowledgement. I assumed she was getting me a menu. I continued to wait and nothing, she was preparing orders in the back along with 2-3 other workers. There were only about 3-4 tables with people so I wasn’t sure why I was being ignored. I walked to the back thinking maybe I need to go to the kitchen area to order. The worker’s continued to prepare food in front of me standing right in front while ignoring me the whole time. I kept trying to make eye contact with them but they would not acknowledge me. An older gentleman walked passed me quickly not even looking at me and didn’t give me a chance to say excuse me. The young female did the same. I said excuse me a few times as they walked around the kitchen and in and out and was ignored. I walked around found a menu and had a few questions before ordering but was ignored. I was very close to walking out (and should have). It was clear I was being ignored and I was getting quiet upset yet trying to be patient. all the sudden I seen the female come out from the back and stopped her at the door from the back restaurant she answered my questions, was short with me and said it would take 15-20 min for a veggie spring roll (not the fried one). After waiting 10-15 min already I told her no thank you. Most places already have those prepared ahead of time. The workers can do better at acknowledging customers. Service was TERRIBLE I will...
Read moreCold grilled pork chop with cold egg over hard rice. It was an huge disappointment going there yesterday with my family. The moment I saw the old man at the counter is Vietnamese, I was hopeful that the food should be legit. Found out, the old man is the owner, but unfortunately he wasn’t friendly at all. Didn’t give us the attention needed, especially when we ordered waters & teas. We’ve waited over 30 mins to get our drinks after placing our order. The restaurant was empty when we got there. So, you can’t say he was too busy to serve us. My husband had the rice noodles with pork chop. All he got was 99% noodles with a few slices of meat. The noodles was dried, & flavorless. My daughter had a small bowl of chicken pho, which that was the only meal was actually hot. The restaurant seems clean, but I got uncomfortable after sitting there for 10 mins, I smelled dirty mop water odor on my table, & the floor that we were eating at.
