Shunj's — Restaurant in Gould

I ate here on Feb. 6, 2025, at 1:30 pm. They have an extensive menu, but I saw they had some food under a glass case on the counter. It was ribs, brown beans, and macaroni so I went with that and also got some potato salad and a bottle of water. The ribs, I think, had been sitting there a while (probably since lunch). They were a little greasy a little bit dry but they were still good. The baked beans were good, a little sweet like they had a touch of molasses. They also had a little ground hamburger in them, which was interesting and it wasn’t bad. The macaroni was good, thick, very cheesy and there was something unique about the taste. I’m not certain what that was, but it was good. I guess they maybe had a slight onion taste. The potato salad was good. I thought at first it may have come from a supermarket, but there was something added to it. That made it particularly good for mustard potato salad. I’ll be going back. You can only take out here. You can’t dine in. The prices were reasonable. I think it’s a good place to stop traveling between Louisiana and Pine Bluff, or from wherever. Since this is a "take out only" place, I called in our order. The person who took the order was very friendly, and made sure the order was correct before ending the call. Wait time was to be approximately 15 minutes but when we arrived about 5 minutes early our order was ready. The inside of ShunJ's was very clean, and both employees were extremely nice. We had the Double Cheeseburgers, and Crinkle Fries. The burgers were preformed, frozen patties but they were cooked perfectly with plenty of toppings, and lots of gooey, melty American cheese. The fries were also perfectly cooked. Crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. They had some kind of light seasoning on them that I think might be Hidden Valley Ranch.
