It was 90 degrees today. Let me start off with that. My mom and I walked into First Bite and we were greeted with zero air conditioning and one small fan blowing in one direction sitting on the floor. It was almost unbearable. It felt like sticking your head in an oven. No air flow at all, and the more people that came in and the more the kitchen was cooking, the hotter it got. I went to my car to sit the the air conditioning au one point because I thought i might pass out.
The woman working seemed like the owner, sat us at a middle booth even though no one else was there when we got there. Eventually we had people on either side of us and it was very awkward- kind of wish we had been allowed to choose where we sat.
The coffee was absolutely fabulous. Very fresh and hot, but since the restaurant was hotter than the sun, it was extremely hard to enjoy the coffee. The water is tap water and doesn't taste good. My mom asked for her orange juice 4 times before actually getting it. When we were done eating, we were sitting for 15+ minutes with our plates stacked up waiting for someone to bring our check. We took turns going back out to the car again to keep from passing out. The front door was open so there were a lot of flies landing on the light fixture above our head and we were waving them off our food. The owner and her cook were the only people working, and seemed extremely overwhelmed. The people next to us sat for at least 15 minutes before their order was taken. I think having a server or busboy would do them a world of good.
The food was GREAT. Everything was super fresh, eggs cooked exactly as I wanted, very flavorful homefries. My tiny little waffle was PERFECT. Just the right size to have a little treat, and it was so fluffy and flavorful. The cinnamon drizzle on top made it taste like a cinnamon bun. I wish I had been able to enjoy all the yummy food in a less uncomfortable environment.
The owner was a lovely person. She was very friendly and kind, I just hope that they fix the air issue, otherwise summer breakfasts are going to be extremely uncomfortable for anyone planning to go on a hot day. We would return, but maybe not...

Read moreThis is the most adorable place ever! I love the decor and the color scheme. From the minute you walk in the door, you feel like you are a guest in their home. Annette and her family were very welcoming. The menu had lots to offer, something for everyone. If you had any questions, they were answered and explained with no problem or hesitation. The food was seasoned to perfection and tasted delicious. The water even came out in a cute glass with a surprise piece of fruit and curled straw! I had ordered scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, English muffin, and a blueberry pancake. We also celebrated a birthday. I ordered the birthday special, which was a combination of waffles and pancakes with toppings. It tasted amazing! They even sang and played birthday music!! Peter, the chef, came out to see how everything was. Great family restaurant. I will definitely be back to First Bite to visit Annette and family! I would definitely suggest stopping by for a bite if you are in the neighborhood or if you want to take a ride to visit a unique restaurant with tasty food. I will definitely be back and...
