Worst food I've had in over 20 years. They didn't have anything on the menu that I wanted to order in 3 tries. Couldn't make tostadas, no spinich so no spinich enchiladas, NO tacos?!?! Finally ordered steak covered with jalapeƱos & onions. queso fresco was cold. *looks around * this place says authentic Mexican food? Yep, menu claims it too. Free Margaritas, I didn't go here for that fact. Margaritas were sweet. I've never had a sweet Margarita. I gave it to mom but I put my lime water that I carry around me 24/7 in it to doctor it up. She claimed no alcohol in it. I thought it had a soda cap full at the most. I need to add that we don't drink alcohol but maybe 2x a year. I didn't like the salsa, but I know some people wouldnt complain. I'm not angry while I do this review. Probably should have started off with this fact. I'm just making it clear that I'm not some troll in a basement or wherever š§ trolls hang out. LoL. I don't normally do reviews but mom was wanting to try this place, because of some reviews on a Canyon Creek Facebook site.š I read her the menu at home 3 days ago and successfully lured her away 2x this week until I got so tired of hearing her say she wanted to go try it that I hauled her butt to this place. Anyway! Again, I ordered the steak. It was thinner than a Whataburger patty, could be a normal thing.shrugs Beans & rice had no flavor. (I was ready for them to say they didn't have those either) asked for medium rare, got well done. They did have good water to drink. I left my steak (ribeye?) that had fresh 1/4 inch slices of jalapeƱos tomatoes and onions on top of the tough, leather like, pancake thin, piece of beef. I left the food on the table, paid $65+ for dinner for 2. I could have gotten a better meal from Taco Bell, IMHO. 𤢠I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. I love every single human in that place but I don't think many would have a 4 or 5 star review for the meal and service we had tonight. I liked their table & chairs. Mom has had 2 major surgeries in the last 3 months so she needs a helping hand to stand. š Just in case someone who was there and saw us trying to get legs back under her. I can't say much more about this restaurant other than maybe there are a lot of people who like different things on their menu. I tried. Honestly, I...

Let me start by saying this: if this restaurant were a person, it would be that one friend whoās always the life of the party, never lets you down, and somehow manages to make everything better. Seriously, this place is phenomenal. Iām not just saying thatāIām shouting it from the rooftops, writing it in the sky, and maybe even considering getting it tattooed on my arm. Okay, maybe not the tattoo, but you get the point.
First off, the food. Oh, the food! Itās like the chefs here have a direct line to the culinary gods. Every bite was a symphony of flavors that made my taste buds do a happy dance. And let me tell you, my taste buds are picky. Theyāve been around the block, and they donāt just dance for anyone. But here? They were doing the cha-cha, the tango, and maybe even a little breakdancing. The food came out fast, hot, and so delicious that I almost cried when I finished my plate.
Now, letās talk about the service. If the food is the star of the show, the service is the Oscar-winning supporting actor. The staff here are like superheroes in aprons. Theyāre friendly, attentive, and somehow always know exactly what you need before you even ask. Iām pretty sure they have mind-reading powers. My water glass was never empty, my questions were answered with a smile, and they even managed to make my kids feel like VIPs. Speaking of kidsā¦
My little ones LOVED it. And letās be real, keeping kids happy at a restaurant is like trying to herd catsāitās not easy. But here? They were grinning from ear to ear, devouring their meals like theyād never seen food before. And when the kids are happy, everyone is happy.
Iām so thrilled this restaurant is in our town. Itās like finding out your favorite band is playing a surprise concert in your backyard. You just want to grab everyone you know and drag them there immediately. So, consider this your official invitation: GO. GO NOW. Take your family, your friends, your neighborās dogājust go. You wonāt regret it.
In conclusion, this restaurant is a 12/10. Itās a culinary masterpiece, a service superstar, and a family-friendly haven all rolled into one. Iāll definitely be backāprobably tomorrow. And the next day. And the day after that. See you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been driving by this restaurant for several weeks and decided to stop in and see what it was all about. I was impressed with the chairs. It's a simple thing, but comfort means a lot. They are a chair you wouldn't expect to see in a regular restaurant. White padded chairs. It's the little things, you know? This is a mix of authentic Mexican with a little New Orleans flair on the menu. I had the huevos rancheros for breakfast and it was delicious. My eggs were cooked perfectly and the hand mashed refried beans were wonderful. Not too dry not too runny. My husband had a gigantic breakfast burrito that only cost $6.95. That was impressive. The chef came out to greet us and told us about his past experience and how he came to start Agave. He previously worked for the Dallas Cowboys in their club so I knew he had a good pedigree. His wife is from Mexico so I know the Mexican food is going to be wonderful. We immediately made reservations for Saturday night. They are applying for their bar license and should have at any time now. There is a large bar area that will be very nice for watching a game or hanging out with friends. I highly recommend this restaurant. We were made to feel welcome and right at home. I cannot wait to try the dinner menu. Oh, and you can get tamales for $15 a dozen. And, they will...
