Escamilla Amigos Cantina — Restaurant in Grand Blanc Charter Township

Ordered the enchilada combination and a bowl of corn chowder soup. Server was good. Food was lame. Corn chowder tasted like undercooked corn bread and had the same texture. But it was better than the main course. Pork enchilada was sweet like Sweet Baby Rays barbeque sauce. Chicken was completely tasteless, also smothered in bbq sauce. Cheese was flavorless. Ground beef was very herbal, not bad by itself, and beef enchilada sauce was more savory and when combined it was very unusual and disturbing. Rice and beans were bland beyond identification. I, personally, was extremely hungry. The chips and salsa were okay, not better than some jarred stuff from the grocery store.

Originally I thought this meal would be a 6/10 simply because I was not appalled to eat it, however, after further thinking it was upsettingly disappointing especially considering there are about 4 places in that area of Holly to eat at all. 4/10. Suffice to say, despite this being my second time at the establishment and concerning the frequency in which I am in the area, I am greatly emboldened to pack a lunch when visiting Holly. I've been to 32 states and 4 different countries and have never experienced food as bad as this. If my parents use to make Sloppy Joe tacos that fall apart as you pick them up then maybe they'd like it but everyone in my family tried one just to verify because I'm a picky eater and everyone spit it right back out and said it was absolutely disgusting. How can you ruin Mexican food for someone that just likes Mexican food I do not know cause I could've put tapioca pudding on the cheapest taco shell in the world and I have no doubt it would've been far better. I know I won't get a refund but I'll leave an honest review because it's obvious they're either giving customers discounts for positive reviews or they hired one of those tech companies that create AI programs to make a bunch of fake reviews because unless someone eats someone else's vomit for dinner this wouldn't have been good for them. Arrived at 1pm on Friday afternoon. No one at the Hostess stand to greet or seat us. The dining room still had chairs turned on top of the tables. Walked into the bar, it was pretty empty, maybe 2 or 3 tables had customers, but 4 or 5 tables sat empty, unbussed with dirty dishes, food and flies. Still no one greeted us even though there is a sign stating "please wait to be seated." We decided we'd better scope out the bathrooms to see how clean they were. Filthy!!! They had only been open for 2 hrs and the women's room toilet was clogged with poo! No reason to have dirty bathrooms and tables 2 hrs after opening when you are that slow. Makes me seriously question the cleanliness of the kitchen and staff. Needless to say we left without eating. Inside it does not look like they updated anything from the old Fajitas restaurant, guess they only bothered to give the outside a facelift....
