We live right around the corner from this establishment and eat here almost weekly but, after the experience we had tonight we will NEVER spend our money at Juan Montez again. Tonight's experience; We went in and placed an order to go, like we always have. We ordered an enchilada meal with an extra enchilada, two tostadas, two Emily Specials, and a chicken burrito with queso. The old, rude, and hateful waitress rang our order up after it was brought out of the kitchen and the total came to $90, Remember we eat here almost weekly and our total has NEVER EVER been over $60. We asked her to double check the total because it obviously was high. This is when the waitress starts to get angry. The enchilada meal was $19, the two tostadas were $15 (no rice and beans and no meat), the Emily specials ( meat, rice, and cheese) were $15 for one and $11 for the other one ( why the price difference) and $15 for a chicken burrito (no rice and beans), and was charging us double for some extra salsa and I don't know what else because we didn't order anything else but our total was $90. So we told her that we no longer wanted the food since the price was extremely high!!! This is when the waitress started going off on us, yelling, cussing, being even more rude and hateful then she was when we walked in. She told us that we are Never allowed to call in a to go order or step foot back into Juan Montez! Don't worry honey we will NEVER spend our money here ever again!!! We have eaten here many times and the majority of the time there is Always something wrong with our food, but we just brush if off and eat it anyways. There are two waitresses that work there that are a little on the older side that should probably go work for the trash company or any other place that does not require social interaction or customer service because they are Always rude and hateful and act like they hate everyone, this includes dine in also!!!! The icing on the cake for us tonight was being yelled at and kicked off the property! Word of mouth spreads like wild fire and I will be telling everyone I know or encounter about our experience tonight that way hopefully no one else will have to waste their time going there, spending their hard earned money just to be treated like the scum of the earth!!!! EDIT to add We went to Ceasers in Vinita ordered the same Exact things and our total came to $46!!!! Hmmmm, yea WAY overpriced and not nearly as good as the meals we had...
Read moreOne of if not the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. After finally given a table, I asked for water when chips and pizza sauce flavored salsa was brought over. Then while waiting after I put in my order of two street tacos (no meat options btw, no Pastor or anything, you just get what they have) I went to the bathroom. When I got back my table was cleared. The chips, salsa, and silverware all gone and there was a fresh ring of water on the table, meaning my water came and was then taken away in the short time it took me to wash my hands.
I was eventually brought my food as if nothing was taken away. I had to ask the waitress if I could get the water I ordered. Then I had to ask if I could get salsa again. My silverware was still not returned and I didn’t feel like asking a third time for an item to be brought back. I also ordered a verde salsa as well and what I got couldn’t have been further away from a green sauce. Some sort of pork bean soap was what I was brought.
Now I don’t expect much in the way of authentic from a small town in OK, but that was some of the most Americanized “Mexican” food I’ve ever had and nothing tasted good. One of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve had...
Read moreThere are limited restaurants in the area to choose from (which probably helps the popularity of this spot).
All of their soft drinks taste like they've been mixed with koolaid fruit flavors. Each soft drink our table was served tasted like either blue raspberry or lime. When we inquired about it, she just said that's how they are there. 🤷♀️
When asked about whether Chile sauce came on a meal, the waitress could only shrug and say "Probably." This seemed like an odd response, but who knows?
The food itself was not terrible. It was certainly edible and decent. That's where the 3 stars come in.
The end of our group experience gave us a big chuckle. When the heater kicked on and blew on us at the register, there was a very distinct "post meal" odor. This was of great confusion until one of the mean visited the bathroom. The air return for the HVAC is IN the mens restroom. Thus the air from there is recycled through the...
