Our party of 4 arrived at Cast Iron at about 7pm, the waitress with a southern accent greeted us and served us with great respect and friendliness. The atmosphere was very nice and welcoming, the place is very clean. The food was great and the beverages were cold...except for the coffee which was fresh, rich, and hot. At approximately 8pm our waitress was cut for the evening so we closed our ticket with her and tipped her. Our waitress had to pass our table off to another waitress working. Our table waited until 8:45pm before the other waitress came around, our drinks and water glasses were beyond empty by that point with our ice melted. The other waitress asked if we needed more water but must have failed to see the 4 drinks that were sitting empty in front of us. Needless to say, the additional tip we were going to leave on the table went back into our pockets. I personally will definitely go back to this place because of the amazing southern accent lady that made us feel completely welcome! My only 2 suggestions for this restaurant is to give that lady a raise and have your other staff pay attention to...

We recently visited the Cast Iron for a birthday party. We had a very large party and reservations were made. Our server was the sweetest lady, she was constantly running for us. She mentioned she was supposed to have help with our party but her second person bailed on her. She still did exceedingly well by the overwhelming amount of people we had there, and she did it all with a cheerful smile and while seemingly having fun with us. I was very pleased with our restaurant experience. This place also has a bar that we migrated to after the younger crowd of our party headed home. The bartender, a younger gentlemen was by himself. He had a few other patrons before we bombarded him. He did well to keep up with our demands and even looked like he was having a good time too! One of our party even said he offered to drive the remainder of us home to ensure we get to our destinations safely. Im so happy with the service and hospitality we were shown. Such great people to have employed for you, Cast Iron....

They get two stars because the server did the best he could all alone with a lot of people. I have made a quest to find the best eggs benedict. The cast Iron bar and grill cooked and served the worst one I've ever had. First foul, 4 small slices of wonder bread, not english muffin, second, deli ham has no place unless it's a nice pile of meat, but here you got one very thin slice fried to nothing. I did not expect a real poached egg (Only the Boat House serves this) but there menu said basted egg. What the hell is that. they were fried.

This is our third or fourth attempt to like this place, but alas every time the food sucked. Just proves my point... Lower your standards Duluth this is...

We were in the area for vacation and decided to eat here because it wasn't far from our hotel and didn't involve driving downtown Duluth. I had a steak and my husband had the meatloaf. The meatloaf is definitely not homemade and a very small portion. It didn't even resemble meatloaf. It looked like an odd sausage that was cut in half. He said the texture wasn't quite right, like it was full of fillers. My steak had absolutely NO seasoning on it, which is a shame. And it was rather dry. The waitress was not very attentive and complained it was busy. There were people at 4 other tables when we were there. Definitely not a full house. Crossed off the list for visiting when we come to the area again.

We had a great server by the name of Courtney who was on the ball with keeping our drinks filled and I am a bit of a camel with the water so props to her for not letting my cup. I had the all you can eat fish fry, the coleslaw was good, light on the dressing, the home made fries were nice and crispy, and they didn't do the cheap trick or loading you up with a ton of fries. The fish was awesome, they bread crumb coat it with some good herbs and spices, and get it to the right balance of crispy outside juicy Pollock inside. The fish is most certainly worth the wait in-between servings. Come early if you're really hungry they do last calls at 9pm.

We are outside and the inside was huge perfect for parties and huge groups. Food was served on cast iron plastic plates which were super cool !! Food was amazing and we went during lunch so dinner options were not available until after 4. Our bartender was also our server. Great service and you must try their homemade keg sauce!! Sooo addicting!! Large servings ! We would eat there again, my daughter had the hamburger, I had grilled chicken sandwich and hubby had their homemade chips which was great and a Ruben! We had our dog with us so we ate outside . Beautiful stop with amazing food!
