Tastee Ice — Restaurant in Grand Prairie

I'd remembered growing up in the area as kid walking pass what was an empty parking lot. Until one day, after school, while walking pass that same lot I've noticed a small house being built... I didn't know what it was as kid, but I was curious to find out. On different days throughout the week I started to keep my eye on that little house as I walked pass by and everytime I noticed something was added to it every day: a little bit of color here and there, a window and a sign. Then finally, one day, I noticed it had people stopping by; and there were crowds of people who were eating ice from a cup. Since then, I've wanted to go but never went. I ended up switching schools and life itself just kept me from ever going.

Until now...

It's been twenty years and I finally made it back home to stop by this little house that I walked pass by but never had the chance to eat anything.

My daughter and I come here all the time but now it seems like they serve the walk-ups first. We sat in line 38 minutes with only 4 cars in front us. What’s even more disappointing, the cars ahead were only handed 1-2 snow cones per car, so you can’t blame it on large orders. I watched 4 walk-ups pull up- I’ve been waiting 20 mins and they left within 5-10 minutes. Also, I saw a black suv pull up, lady got out and went in through the back door, came out in 3 minutes with a snow cone. I’m assuming she worked there or owned the place -sort of a slap in face to paying customers who sitting in line for a long period of time. I’ll hang my hat up on snow cones for a while. I loved their snow cones this past summer 22’ they taste great and they’re not super expensive! The bad thing about them is that they take forever to serve you when you choose drive thru and maybe slightly less when you choose the walk up option. They have no tables or patio umbrellas to avoid the sun so you’ll get sun burnt waiting in line or for your snow cones. Anyways the reason why I’m writing this review is because they really NEED TO UPDATE THEIR HOURS. It’s so annoying to drive out because google says they’re open … only to find out once you’ve wasted your gas and time that they’re closed, do better for your...
