Our visit to Thor's Hard Cider was a delightful detour during a trip from Wisconsin to Minneapolis. The location, nestled in a charming, secluded area, was a pleasant surprise. We arrived at 11 a.m. on a Sunday and were amazed by the bustling crowd already gathered. The inviting atmosphere made our impromptu stop a joyful one.
The sprawling outdoor space was filled with families and groups of friends, creating an ambiance of camaraderie. Adding to the scenic view were the rows of what seemed to be vineyards in the distance, which provided a tranquil backdrop to the lively setting.
We decided to go for their Hard Cider flight and it turned out to be an exciting exploration of flavors. Not all the offerings aligned with our taste, but it did help us discover our favorites, making the experience worthwhile. For those seeking variety and a chance to discover something new, Thor's flights are a must-try.
The place also appeared to host live music events, which must contribute to a vibrant atmosphere in the evenings. We also noted it as a kid-friendly spot, as there was ample outdoor space for children to frolic around.
Do keep in mind that they do not offer lunch, something we had originally planned for. However, the diverse selection of Hard Cider more than compensated for that. If you find yourself in the area, Thor's Hard Cider should definitely be on your to-do list for a unique, outdoorsy experience and a chance to savor some...

Dilapidated wooden picnic tables with sagging benches, wooden pallets built up to make an impromptu stage, a hodgepodge of design pieces that do little to accentuate the space. I feel like this ambiance rubbed off on the workers who didn’t even acknowledge us when we walked in and looked rather bored. In fact, the bartender who was helping us walked away mid order to assist with another customer. Thankfully another bartender intercepted and finished ringing us up. Still, our visit left us feeling rather put off and I doubt we will be back. Talking to our friends about this place I learned of some charges brought against the owner which were further dropped. Reading about this, I realized that I would be better off spending my...
Read moreWhile this cidery doesn't have the variety of ciders akin to Sociable or Minneapolis, it has an atmosphere all it's own. Located next to a winery, the open land sporting a lot of tree cover outside of the tap room is a great place for get together for friends and families. The bright, easy flavors of the ciders and outdoor space reminded me of Cider Factorie in Te Puna, NZ. Each cider is drinkable and offers something different, but not too bold. Their ciders have a broad appeal, even for the occasional or non-cider drinker. Plus, of all else fails, there's wine...
