Tierney's Cavern — Restaurant in Grayson

Completely unacceptable service! I was there with my family including 3 yr old terminally ill grandson. We specifically requested a rush on my ill grandson's food asking if they could bring out even just the fries, as he is only 3 and due to medical needs could not wait long. Simple order. Chicken tenders and fries. We waited 50 minutes for fries for him. So long that he became too tired to eat. We would have walked out had we not been hosting the Founders and CEOs of a Foundation visiting from out of state and we were polite. Afterwards, even they said, they wanted to express their disgust and walk out. My other grandson ordered the all you can eat shrimp. When his food was delivered to the table, he requested another serving of shrimp. It never came, but was handed to him in a box to take with him after he asked multiple more times. When dinners were delivered, we were missing one dinner, which came much later. It took two hours to get in, get food, and eat. And, there were only four other tables being served. Drink refills were very slow to get, even water. We were in disbelief. The CEOs of the Foundation that were with us were disgusted and never plan to eat there again and neither does any...

I tried their breakfast. The eggs were brown and gray and in one solid chunk instead of scrambled. A disgusting waste of $10. I decided to give the restaurant another chance the next day when I ordered Mac n cheese, hush puppies, potato salad, and coleslaw. I found out they were out of Mac n cheese and coleslaw after I had already paid. It was early afternoon and I thought it was strange that they were already out of certain foods before the dinner rush had even started. The server was very nice and gave me extra hush puppies and some strawberry cheesecake instead.

As you can see from the picture, the hush puppies were rock solid from sitting and then being refried all day. The potato salad was okay. The fries tasted how they looked, and the hot grease from the fryer melted through the styrofoam and leaked. Unfortunately the cheesecake wasn't actual cheesecake. It was mushy and tasted off, so I threw it away.

Tldr: This entire restaurant needs an overhaul. Everything is overpriced and the quality of food is horrible. We will pack our own...

My husband and I are camping in our camper at Cave-run campground.we decided to check out the restaurants in the local area. We saw the Tierney’s Cavern Restaurant and lodge. We decided to go in see what kind food they served. The lovely lady at the front desk of the Caveland lodge answered our questions regarding the restaurant. She offered us a menu to take with us we told her we would be back for dinner around 4:30 pm. My husband and I returned to have what we thought was going to be a delicious dinner. Unfortunately, the salad bar was a little scarce on fixings. The server was not friendly and the food was disappointing. We spent over thirty sum dollars. I doubt we will ever go back. I have never given a poor rating but felt compelled too considering the times we live in today. Money is tight, but I wanted to at least have one meal out while camping this week.
