Date of visit: 12/6/2023 Time of visit 7:45am Breakfast at the Greenback Diner in TN. Ate there after dropping Kahlua at PPaws to ummm... lose a little bit of weight. He is going to be one unhappy kitty for a time. How in the world do you keep a crazy cat from zooming and jumping for a week I have no idea. But back to the diner. It is a small place that used to be the towns drug store years ago. Now it has been a diner for years. Staff is very friendly. We were first timers and got treated just like the in town locals which the diner was full of. It is small and was very crowded. That lead to the only drawback of the experience. From placing order to getting our food it was about a half an hour. But we were there pretty early (7:45am) and I imagine breakfast was in full swing. It was starting to clear out a bit by the time we had left. Now on to the good stuff. I was going to order the large pancake and a large biscut and gravy as I could not make up my mind. We had two waitresses. (one in training I guess) They both looked at me and asked if I was sure. I asked why and they explained how big the big pancake really was. So I went with the small and a large biscut and gravy. The wife had 2 eggs over easy, 3 strips of bacon, toast. and hash browns. Her eggs were done to perfection and over easy is not easy to get right. But they did. Bacon just right. She enjoyed her whole meal but could not finish the two slices of toast. Mine was excellent! And oh my gosh! I could not even finish my meal! So a to go tray and I have dinner for tonight. Yes we would recommend people to try. But if you go at breakfast rush just make sure you are not in a hurry. Oh, and the sweet tea...

Read moreWe happened upon the most adorable, old-fashioned little diner--and what a gem it turned out to be! Originally opened in 1923 as a combination drug store and diner, this place is now over a century old and still full of life. With its rustic "greasy spoon" vibe and warm Southern charm, it feels like stepping back in time in the best way possible.
The menu is packed with classic diner favorites--think juicy burgers, grilled cheese, crispy onion rings, fresh salads, hearty meatloaf, French fries, and even fish. There's something for everyone, all served with a nostalgic twist.
Our server, Connie, was an absolute delight--genuinely friendly, welcoming, and full of personality. It's rare these days to find a place that preserves both the atmosphere and flavors of yesteryear, but this diner does it beautifully.
We absolutely loved our visit and can't wait to return. Places like this are few and...
