Mountainhouse Tavern — Restaurant in Greene Township

Second night in a row that we came for the food and atmosphere! Everyone is wonderful! Yesterday, our waitress was so kind to feed our pup some treats and was great with my children as well. The food and service was so good we decided to come back again. Tonight, our little one fell outside and our server, Johnny, quickly helped make her feel better with a chocolate bar and kind words. He gave us the best recommendations for activities to do with our kids around town, is super friendly and funny as while as attentive while he took care of us. He even took the time to bring out a bowl of water for our pup. I also was highly looking forward to some fried pickles and he recommended another pickle dish that was just as delicious, so thank you bud! If you’re looking for great food, outdoor seating, pet friendly atmosphere and/or overall relaxing time with your family…you can’t go wrong here! Ask for Johnny! Hands down our favorite place to eat around...

I love this place for the people and the food however if you are a gambler and like to play the machines be advised this is the ONLY establishment in the Pocono, Scranton areas that makes you wait to collect your winnings. While we have been told the bar manager only needs to be called and will pay you they are always reluctant to call them or there is always a reason why the manager cannot be reached. While I don't mind that much having to wait a day or two I dislike having to return and use extra gas and mileage in order to collect my winnings when EVER OTHER venue is able to payout on the day you win. No matter how much I win at other places this is the only one that ALWAYS has a problem paying out and makes the customer return in a day or so. This is not necessary anywhere else and they should rethink how they are inconveniencing...

Neighborhood Bar in a secluded spot in Greentown.....while it does seem that everyone who comes in know one another, the staff wear shirts stating "there are no strangers here, only friends you haven't yet met" and we were certainly made to feel that way....staff is friendly and attentive......the menu is small and understand that it is bar food.....however it is definitely above average.....wings are very good and you can choose from many different sauces or dry rubs.....we have only had the cheesesteak hero here but it is what they are known for and you can order a half or whole and have different options including chicken or steak....I certainly recommend trying Mountainhouse Tavern.....you just might go in for dinner and extend your stay at the bar with new friends while listening to local...
