Great local cash only diner. We were there on a Sunday at 11am and were able to order either breakfast or lunch (two different menus) so my son ordered both and got a single pancake (good sized) and a tasty double cheeseburger. I got 3 eggs over medium, home fries (fresh not frozen) and 3 slices of scrapple. $21. Seat yourself. Friendly service. Daily specials. Exactly what we like in a hometown diner.

Service was quick and delicous. Home made breakfast was perfect. They served us breakfast even though we showed up last minute. Country fried steak with sausage gravy was crispy and my favorite. Potatoes with gravy was not a bad choice either. Definately a place to stop if you have cash and want a good meal.

We found this place on a road trip. The food was great, the staff was really friendly, and the service was nice and quick. I don't think we're likely to get back there, but if we're ever in the area, we'll definitely eat there again. The only odd thing about the place is they are cash only.

After the utter dumpster fire that was Denny’s In Bedford, I decided to try a local place. I went to Peggy’s Diner in Claysburg, PA and I must say, I am quite pleased with my experience!

I had a double cheeseburger and curly fries. The burger patties were rather thin, however they had a lot of flavor! The fries were cooked to that PERFECT golden yellow color, although they initially lacked seasoning. Fortunately, that was easily remedied with a few sprinkles of salt and pepper and some ketchup! A simple, but very good and inexpensive meal!

The atmosphere was well lit, clean, and very decorative! It had a very retro feel! On top of that, I noticed there were a lot of customers. As I was waiting for my food, I saw more hungry people walk inside every few minutes! During my visit, it was busy but not overwhelming. I can see why it’s so popular, especially with senior citizens who are probably on a budget!

Overall, Peggy’s Diner isn’t the most remarkable eatery in Central Pennsylvania, but it IS a very good one! With a nostalgic atmosphere, cheap but delicious food, and friendly staff, I can certainly recommend it, especially if you’re on a budget and don’t want fast food! Remember, this is a cash-only establishment, so don’t forget your wallet and a handful of dollar bills! I will definitely return...

We have been there several times. Always good. The waitress is always nice. Decided to go this past Thursday. The older taller lady was the waitress. Place not busy. Took her forever to come to table. Took orders finally. I ordered meatloaf bc everyone said how good it was. My friend ordered hot roast beef sandwich. Other friend the chicken and fish planks. I couldn't even cut the meatloaf bc they gave me the end. Was burnt. My friends roast beef was cold. Lady in back came out Took hers to heat up. I told her mine was hard and burnt Took it. The waitress stood at counter and yelled. people r waiting bc their food was cold. When she brought food back I told her mine wasn't cold. Was hard and burnt. My other friends fish and chicken crust was so hard he couldn't cut it. Terrible and I don't usually complain when I go out. Not a...

We recently moved into the area and decided to try Peggy's for lunch after church. The food was good, and there was a decent amount for the price. The staff was pleasant as well.

Two of my three kids got the chicken planks and absolutely loved how crispy they were. For my side salad I asked for blue cheese dressing, which is my go to, and was told they don't have blue cheese, but they have a mix they make of blue cheese and French, which I decided to try and really enjoyed.

We'll definitely go back.

For those considering stopping here, just be aware that they are cash only. There is an ATM on premises. I imagine there may be a usage fee, but can't...
