Ruan Thai in Greensboro, Alabama, is more than worth the drive. I used to go to Ruan Thai when it was located on the Strip in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. One of my friends and I have traveled down to Ruan Thai in Greensboro four times to enjoy the food, the atmosphere, and the incredible service. It is so good that we plan to go back ar least one more time this summer! The food is beyond delicious and is made to order with adjustments offered to levels of spice and dietary options for meat, tofu, vegetable, as well. I ordered the crab puffs and the pad thai chicken and both were divine. The meal came with a coconut soup which was a tasy appetizer while we waited for our food. (And don't worry, the wait is not long and more than worth it.) The atmosphere is lovely with brightly painted walls, lovely wood features, gold decorations, and is a lovely blend of modern and traditional. The owner and the staff are kind and courteous. The manager has taken time to speak to my friend and me a couple times and remembered who we were on our most recent trip. He chatted with us for a little while and his kind demeanor made the meal just that much more special. I cannot urge you enough: please, take a trip to Greensboro, have lunch or dinner at Ruan Thai, you will not regret it. The only regret you could possibly have is the regret of not going there sooner!

Such an excellent change from the typical meat & sides or fast food restaurants that crowd our small towns! Food is delicious, appropriate portions & nicely plated. Restaurant space is a little small in downtown Greensboro but not overcrowded. Hope soon they have a mango sticky rice dessert option because we might be there several times a week! If I could add a suggestion, it would be to make the seating & ordering clearer. Upon our arrival, we found no signs or immediately available staff to inform us to order at the bar counter & then be seated. Did have to also get your own drinks. Both are fine, just unusual for a sit down restaurant. They just recently opened so still working out the kinks, but we will definitely make the drive again. Slow down, dine-in, and feel the love. Every time, and there have been many, we have eaten here, my husband and I feel like we're on our first date. It's always a pleasant experience being here because the owners have poured their heart and soul into this place. Van and Alp have created a unique space to serve carefully prepared, delicious, authentic Thai food. You can't go wrong with the daily specials, but there are plenty of menu options. I particularly love the homemade curries, 💜 the curry puffs in a cup, and will order coconut ice cream anytime it is on the menu. Greensboro is so lucky to have this restaurant!

I was in Greensboro with my mom visiting family, and this restaurant did not disappoint. We were kindly greeted by the owner and a young man who was the waiter/food runner. The owner took time to walk us through the menu, explain his favorite dishes, and offer additional suggestions. After we ordered, his wife (who is also the chef) also came and greeted us. He also shared his story on how the restaurant came to be, and we could tell he has an immense passion for the food and providing people in the area with special culinary service.

The food came out quickly, and was prepared with so much love. Their spring rolls are the best I’ve ever had - full, fresh, and not greasy. The cashew noodles, shrimp Thai fried rice, and pad Thai all came with unique flavors, was extremely filling and tasty! I will be thinking about this food for a while - THANK YOU Ruan Thai for a one of a...
