This place suffers extremely from lack of proper management and quantity of servers. They have no seating system in place so I was admitted before there was any actual place to seat me. In fact, I wasn't given any seating and a random server came up to place me down at a table with an existing party. Eventually space cleared and I was moved to my own locale, but still.
Additionally, the buffet itself is barely kept stocked, namely in fried chicken which rapidly ran out of legs. The servers try their best but there's no organization system in place to make it easier for them so they are unable to meet customer requests. This lies doubly on management as nearly everything relies on them. Even to get ice cream, I had to ask my server 5 different times because she forgot because she got swarmed by requested from her other "tables". This isn't on her, cause she was a great server. It's on management for not giving her any sort of organization and on making something as simple as ice cream dependent on her instead of the customer.
I will say that the food is alright. I, as a home cook, can definitely make/have made better. That is to say, nothing is really remarkable and the food is average at best. That is, besides the ice cream which was really enjoyable. It comes in two flavors, strawberry...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe breakfast buffet was inadequately stocked & some items looked to have been on the buffet for far too long. There was no bacon on the buffet; I questioned both the cashier & a cook, who both told me they didn't know when the bacon would be ready. In the 20 minutes that I was there, bacon was not put on the buffet & none of the other items on it were replenished either. When I made my tray, there were only 2 pieces of fried eggs on the buffet, there were no scrambled eggs at all & the grits were lukewarm. Since my tray was "to-go", I was charged by the pound a total $13, which was ridiculously high for the paltry amount of food that I got. The cashier only seemed concerned about collecting money; not about the under-stocked buffet items or their barely warm state when I mentioned it to her. I had been to Fhinney's on several previous occasions for their lunch/dinner buffet & had been satisfied with the food & well stocked choice of items. This breakfast visit to Fhinney's Buffet was especially disappointing because I try to support Greenville's local minority owned businesses. Sadly, I have to say that I won't be returning to Fhinney's for breakfast...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food is great but today I was publicly humiliated by a waitress bc I didnāt pay before I got food at the buffet. I wasnāt aware that āSUNDAY DINNERā you have to pay before you eat. On the other weekdays customers eat and pay afterwards. Although this was a genuine mistake on my end and Ive been eating there religiously these past couple weeks, the waitress seemed glad to make a loud spectacle of it and even fussed because I sat myself. The place was crowded and she just downright embarrassed me. I have eaten there previously, on a Sunday morning & didnāt pay til afterwards with no problem! Yea I probably...
