9/28/25 Update Ordered the Maple Cinnamon Pancake special and their was absolutely nothing special about it. The pancakes were way too sweet, which the waitress indicated was the overall feedback about them AFTER she served them. She did say that she'd "let the cook know" they were too sweet on my behalf. My main gripe was the overcooked bacon, which I told her about immediately as soon as the meal was served. I prefer floppy bacon, but I eat crisp bacon. This wasn't crisp, it was HARD and capable of breaking teeth! There was no offer to replace it with bacon that wasn't like chewing on wood, but an offer to replace it with something else, with a strong indication that if I replaced it, I'd be paying for it. There was no attempt to make anything right. 3/4 of that meal was left untouched, and silly me left a 20% tip for that horrible meal and that horrible waitress! This has me really rethinking my tipping practices. 20% is the lowest tip you'll receive from me, but why should I tip anything for food I can't eat to a waitress who couldn't care less? My partner's meal was good but nothing special. What used to be our "go to" place when camping in the area is now a no go for us. Cochranton has other options that have decent food and good servers, or you can head North on I-79 and go to some great local eateries located in Downtown Meadville or a chain place where you know what you're getting. We like to buy and eat local, but Aunt Bee's isn't worth the hit or miss with meals and service, and it's really sad it's no longer a place I can recommend.
Original post 2023 The pandemic hit Aunt Bee's HARD Their breakfast options remain tops, however, their hours are sporadic based on staffing, and we finally were able to enjoy a late lunch there recently. The fish special provided a huge piece of fish, which was slightly fishy, but still good, with a great selection of chef picked sides. Looking forward to when their staffing issues are resolved and we can enjoy our meals here more often when I'm not feeling like campfire cooking on our trips to...
Read moreFood was good, service was just ok,,,the only thing that was way off was the fact that we were charged $.75 for GRAVY!! What the heck?? I ordered the pork loin dinner with mashed potatoes,,,the waitress asked me if I wanted gravy on the mashed potatoes and the pork,,,I said yes,,,my husband ordered the pork loin dinner also except with home fries,,,the waitress asked him if he wanted gravy on the home fries and the pork,,,he said yes,,,the waitress never mentioned that there would be an upcharge of $.75 for the gravy that he said yes to on his home fries,,,when we asked the waitress why my husbands meal was $.75 more than mine she explained that the gravy that he said yes to was not included because he ordered home fries and not mashed potatoes,,,that it's only included if you order mashed potatoes! What??? They were putting gravy on the pork on both meals anyway,,,just because he didn't order mashed potatoes he got charged extra for the gravy that SHE asked him if he wanted and didn't mention the upcharge! What a scam,,,if the manager had been around he would have heard from us on that subject! The waitress doesn't set the pricing but she should have mentioned the upcharge since SHE was the one who asked the question in the first place! Just another way to get more money out of people! Ridiculous! They won't get away with it again,,,we'll be more vigilant next...
Read moreVery good Belly Busters third-pound burger ordered medium rare, came out perfect , with all the fixings. The fresh cut fries, yeah so so. May I add an opinion? Cook the fries twice. I let mine cool and put them in my air fryer before I ate them. Delicious. You can have your prepper blanch them or short fry them drain them then cool them and fry them for about 3 minutes at 350 as people order them. Those are the best kind of fries or you could do the same thing with a hundred pounds of french fries and bag them and freeze them and they would be even better. Still only around 3 minutes to fry cook Frozen french fries. Fresh is good but cooked cooled better yet freeze and fried again is better. Add the freezing step to it it makes the inside part of the french fry softer, still Cooks around 3 minutes in the fryer and...
