I hate to have to change my review. I would have always gave 5 stars to the south house but today put the iceing on the cake. The young man walking around wating on tables with the ear buds in his ear needs to take care of his customers and listen to what they want he absolutely has the worst personality we have ever seen. He just left us sitting there and ignored us after he took our drink order like we wasn't there after asking the hostesses to send him to our table as we were ready to order he sends another waitress over to wait on us. This young man's attitude is the worst I have ever seen in a restaurant. We drove over 45 minutes to come here to eat with my inlaws for Sunday lunch we should have went to McDonald's we would have been treated better than the Ear Bud Waiter took care of us. Sad to say we want be returning here for a long time. This young man absolutely ruined our Sunday dinner with family. Just so the owner will know when your customer ask for there sald bowl the Waiter or waitress does not need to roll ther eyes and walk away and say WELL BLESS. If this was my restaurant as busy as it is on Sunday my staff would know that the customers are top priority and walking around wating on tables with ear buds in and a rotten personality want be tolerated. Sad to say we have eaten here many many times and had numerous family birthdays and get togethers here but today was the worst experience we have ever had. Guess we will have to start going to Wade's in spartnburg at least they have people taking care of you who care about the customers and a bigger parking lot and more room to eat with out it being so loud. Thanks Ear Bud for a ruined day with family for...
Read moreWednesday I tried SouthHouse since forever. Got the Perch and Chilicheeseburger. Both absolutely wonderful. Called back today and my stars it's steak. Great. Can't wait. Placed the order and walked up the block to pick it up. Person at counter ignores me as I walk up next to the gentleman, prepared to pay for my meal and walk home. Person attending register continues to ignore me. Fine. Sometimes we have bad days. But before he gets his change ban older person approached and seemlessly moves in and pays for her meal. I mention to a customer who just entered in a jovial manner that I must be a ghost. He laughed and said, " you gotta be a regular". The man then stood up without missing a beat and gives his card to the clerk. He says "to go orer". And she smiles and swipes his card. At which point I'm perturbed and state that I am trying to get a to go order as well, gesturing towards my steak dinner that sits now in a styrofoam container on the establishments pick up order table. I completely understand taking care of regulars. But what will happen when those regulars are gone and you failed to acquire new business? Treat everyone like a regular. Treat everyone...
Read moreIf you have small children DO NOT GO!! My husband, myself and my two kids (5 and 2) went for a meal yesterday and we left feeling so embarrassed and will never return. This restaurant caters more towards the senior citizens but we love home cooked food too so we decided to give it a shot. We were the only ones with small children and we have two boys who are hungry and it’s nearing the end of the day so they are also tired and sitting in a booth was the last thing they wanted to do. Of course we entertained and hushed and tried to keep the peace but that didn’t stop the countless stares and whispers from everyone around us. From the staff to the other customers we were being viewed very negatively. Our kids were not acting out or being unruly by any means, just normal kid behavior. If it was a fancy high end restaurant we would understand more but this wasn’t. The food was good..really good actually which is a shame because we would have become regulars. Our waitress also was not very attentive. We had to wave her down after she passed our table literally five times without saying a word to us. Worst restaurant experience I have ever...
