Northwood Restaurant (Bistro) — Restaurant in Guerneville

Yet another installment of "why haven't I rated this place yet??" Quite a few years back, I discovered Piner Cafe. The food was delicious, the waitresses were all very nice, the coffee mugs didn't match. It's a cute place. Then I moved to West County. I thought Northwood Restaurant would be expensive, especially because it's connected to a golf course but eventually Boyfriend and I decided to give it a try and were surprised to realize it's the sister restaurant of Piner Cafe. The menu was the same, the food tastes the same (delicious!), SAME SAME!! Each restaurant may have strayed from the other by now, we haven't been to Piner Cafe in years because Northwood is now our home restaurant. Everything we've tried is delicious. The burgers are big and mouthwatering and juicy and messy. We usually show up midday on the weekend. It's dim and feels very 1970s, but that's not a bad thing. The view out the windows is the golf course. If the weather is nice you can sit outside and watch people golf. The prices have definitely gone up in the last few years, but that's the same everywhere you go. Definitely go here if you're looking for delicious...

This is one my favorite spots at Russian River. I’ve been here four times over the past 3 years. It’s a unique ambiance, especially with the Redwoods overhead. We always sit outside overlooking the golf course. One of these days I hope to play a few rounds of golf, because the redwoods are so majestic and beckoning. The food is always good, as is the cocktails. I have had the burgers, the Rueben, the BLT and now the Club sandwich. All delicious! Oh and the pies are good too! I went into this establishment with high hopes based on previous reviews and I was quickly underwhelmed. Something is missing and I can’t place my finger on what it is. Anyways, the food has a lot to be desired for. Menu needs reworking and cook/chef needs some sprucing up of his or her cooking skills. The cali melt sandwich was is a good choice and I recommend.
