Mim's Mighty Meaty Hoagies — Restaurant in Guilford Township

Make no mistake! I really want to give a 5 out of five for the food... I moved to Fayetteville in 1984 and for 7 years this was our go-to for absolutely the best quick food. I had business out east today and stopped here for the first time in 30 years & ordered sandwiches. I then proceeded to drive back home to Pittsburgh, My only request when the sandwiches were made was that all the condiments be put on the side; As I had told the girl that took my order the sandwiches were coming the whole way back to Pittsburgh before they would be eaten... After five hours in the car with all the condiments on the sandwiches they're just soggy slimy messes... And I've no earthly idea when I will get back there again, Like I said it took 30 years the first time.

At least I got a bag of gibbles potato chips to celebrate my childhood in Chambersburg, And I did get a large meatball which was quite amazing I ate that on the way... I think I took the last bite as I was driving through downtown Chambersburg, so it was not long for this world 🤣 I know these sandwiches would have tasted amazing too but I bought them at 7:30 at night It's 1:00 in the morning and I just walked in my kitchen with them🤷🏻‍♂️ #devestated😭

Takeaways, absolutely go here, This place is the best sandwich shop I've ever eaten at my whole life and I've lived in Chicago and I've lived in New York City... Eat the sandwiches within a couple minutes of ordering them. I will still eat these solely because I have been so poor that I had nothing in my freezer or refrigerator except a 5 lb bag of rice. Not even a condiment to put on the rice. So I do not throw food away if it is not spoiled I will eat it. It sure would have been nice to have it the way it's supposed to be had though.

I will go back and I will take my wife with me and we will eat the sandwiches there next time! My opinion of the establishment has not changed from the time I was a little kid. It is still the place to be... I think I just did it wrong. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Please also keep in mind, my review is not meant to impeding the good folks at the sandwich shop in any way but merely to serve to make sure that someone else doesn't make the mistake...

I came to eat there for the first time last Sat 8/10/24. Never been there before and got a coupon so wanted to try it out. Brought my mom with me. Food was pretty good ,but there were 2 men cooking in the kitchen who were so rude and argumentative with the lady taking our order. Who was there that day to help out she said because of a callout. She mentioned she hadn't been in there for months due to a couple of surgeries. She made a small mistake on my order (not a big deal at all) but when she took it to one of the men preparing food he said" why did you put bacon on this order if she didn't ask for bacon. Heavy sigh and walked away. I felt sorry for her because she was in there helping them out and he was very RUDE. I asked for a box to take left overs and when she went to get me a box the other man preparing food snapped at her and said we don't use those anymore" put his kitchen tool down and grumbled when he walked away. They treated her like she was an idiot and getting scolded in front of customers was UNCALLED FOR!! i was please with my sub but don't think I will be returning because if that's how they treat their employees its no place I want to eat. And i love supporting our local Mom and Pop shopes. Sounds like they have been in business for years and been successful but treatment of employees...

So, I would like to give an honest review. I used to love Mim's. I went there weekly. I don't know what has happened during the last few years...

Called yesterday. 5:30pm. Ordered a cold sub, 'BLTT'. I asked to add onions and pickles. I got 2 subs. Made hot. With provolone cheese (didn't ask for this). Also, received no lettuce and no tomato.

So I received 2 subs with turkey, cheese, mayo, onion, and bacon. Made hot.

Again, they removed the lettuce and tomato (which comes with a BLTT), didn't include pickles on any, then instead of being a cold sub (which it is listed as), it was made hot, and they put cheese on for some reason.

After calling to let them know of the mistake... the girl answering had an attitude and repeated what they wrote down, which was wrong, then I asked for a manager, and was told 'ugh, they are out front eating'. On top of all of this, they allowed a woman into the store without a facemask (04/30/2020). They also had 4 customers inside the front of the store at the same time, nobody was 6 ft apart. At least the sign in the front of the store said 'firearms welcome'. That makes it...
