Beach Bums Coffee & Deli — Restaurant in Gulf Shores

So I google sandwich and smoothie place. We like off the beaten path places….usually. We arrive, no smoothies. I’m certain that I saw a strawberry smoothie in the pictures on goggle maps. We almost left but didn’t want to be rude. The sandwich options are minimal. We make our order and waiting. Atmosphere is the MOST awkward. We needed the restroom but it was locked. Had I not asked the lady sitting at a table behind us with a laptop (manager/owner?) if the bathrooms were locked or if there was someone in it; I don’t think we would’ve got our food in a timely manner. A local came in. They were super friendly to him, knew him by name, and your knew his order. However, there was minimal friendliness with us. Overall, not a bad experience at all. This is a small shop that shares a building with other businesses. The staff were friendly and were prompt in getting our orders. I had a Turkey and Swiss Panini on wheat bread and it came with a pickle and a side. I had the Grape Salad, which was very good! The panini was kind of basic, but overall pretty good. I'm not sure if the make their pickles in house but it seemed to be a "fast" pickle brined in just vinegar and salt. It ended up being a little too vinegar-y for me but if you're a salt and vinegar fan it should be right up your alley! I also had an Affogato, which was pretty solid. We’ve been down here on vacation and we are heading back home today but had to stop to get our last cup of coffee for this trip! I highly recommend this place!! The very nice lady that makes the coffee is so sweet and smart and I swear I’m I love with her iced white chocolate mocha! When we come back I’m definitely going there before I go to any Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts or any other place!! It’s definitely a MUST TRY!!
