7/28/25 We came in last night and it was slammed!! We got to the hostess stand and were told several large parties of over 10 had sat down so it would be a while before we got sat, but we got lucky and ended up finding spots at the inside bar. Unfortunately, we ended up next to a couple that clearly doesn’t understand that a restaurant bar isn’t the place for such PDA, they were incredibly disrespectful and rude towards the bartenders, Al and Brittany. At one point, one of the bartenders was attempting to take their order but the couple didn’t seem to notice her standing there or hear her when she attempted to get their attention, more enthralled in each other’s faces than concerned with their surroundings. So disrespectful and clearly not the setting, especially if you’re wanting to order something or seem displeased with the service.
Like I said, it was slammed, we got our drinks out pretty quickly and they were amazing as usual, it did take a while for the food to come out, but with several large parties, it’s expected, and it’s pretty interesting to watch the bartenders work so we don’t mind. I have no idea how they’re able to handle the chaos around them but Al and Brittany handled it well. When we got our food, it was cooked perfectly. We tried out the seafood stuffed pork chop, and it was absolutely amazing.
The only issue we had was with the people waiting for tables we’re trying to order drinks all around us. This is was an issue last time we sat at the bar too. Please make a designated “order here” spot so us bar patrons can eat without being elbowed and shoved around when we’re trying to eat. We can’t wait to come back in a few weeks! Great job Brittany and Al, you both are awesome and you deserve raises after handling the disrespectfulness from last night. Several others around us agreed and hopefully mentioned it to the Manager.

My husband and I come in once or twice a month and we used to sit at a table, except several weeks ago we sat at the bar because of the long wait and we were told the inside bar is also full service. At first, I was hesitant because we’re not “bar” people, but Brittany quickly changed that! She was a rockstar. She was attentive, funny, has a great personality, and even though she got extremely busy, she was still able to give us spectacular service. She remembers our drinks and dinner orders every time we come in, and truly cares about our overall dining experience, plus she took the time to make sure that everything was perfect even though she was insanely busy. I’m not sure how she was able to juggle all of the people and tickets that were coming at her, but she made it seem so easy and didn’t seem stressed at all.
We look forward to sitting and chatting with Brittany on Tuesday nights and I’m disappointed we didn’t get to see her last Tuesday night. We understand everyone gets an off night, but we missed our favorite bartender. Hopefully, the new bartender (Macy?) from last week gets some more training before she has to work a busy night again. We felt bad for leaving, but our cocktails weren’t drinkable and honestly, it wasn’t the usual experience we’re used to at Tin Top, even on their busiest night we’ve had better service. We hope all is well with Brittany and can’t wait to see hopefully see her...
Read moreMy wife and I were in Gulf Shores for a few days of r & r & b (beach) and a friend recommended a local favorite called the Tin Top. We gave it a try and were not disappointed. Loved everything about it. We sat outside, even though it was a little warm and humid, but they had plenty of fans going. Steven was our waiter and he took great care of us. We had the Caesar salad, Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms, and Seafood Topped Fresh Catch, which was Red Snapper. We split everything and were glad we did. There was plenty and it was all delicious! Tin Top is a little off the beaten path and certainly not in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of Beach Boulevard, where our condo was located, but it was definitely worth the short 15 minute drive inland. Oh, I should mention the margaritas. They were too sweet for my wife and Steven quickly replaced it with a Corona Extra. I was just ok with my margarita. Unfortunately, it is hard to find an establishment that doesn't use a mix in their margaritas instead of fresh squeezed limes and lemons. However, I rate this restaurant on the food and not the drinks, so CHECK IT OUT!
Ok, it has been a year or so since I left the above review. We just got back from spending the first week of August in Gulf Shores and of course we had to go back to Tin Top! We found it was now in a new location just down the road from where they originally were located. The new restaurant is much bigger and on the water. The parking lot is huge, but gravel/dirt. Hopefully this will be paved eventually. The place was very busy, as we expected, so we went to the bar to sit and wait for our table, which we were told would be about 45 minutes for an outdoor table. No problem. We met the bartender, Brittany, who was very kind and busy. She made my wife a special drink since the margarita she made me was a little too sweet for my wife's taste. I found it delicious. Our table became available after we had finished our stuffed mushroom appetizer, which was also delicious. Drew was our waiter and he did a great job. About 5 minutes after we were seated the mosquitos decided it was dinner time and took to us like a fish to water. They did the same with some folks who were just seated before us. We had just placed our order with Drew and he had gone inside, so I went up to Brittany and told her we were under attack. She spoke with a manager who arranged for us to be seated at a different table, still outside, but up under the roof and deep inside the patio away from the water, but we could still see it. We had no issues there and the other folks got a table inside. We appreciated the restaurant taking care of us this way. THE FOOD - we split the special, which was Blackened Trigger Fish, steamed broccoli and grits. Every was DELICIOUS! And it should have been for $40+! We ordered the bread pudding to take back to the rental. It didn't last long after we walked in the door. It was very good as well. We have no stars to add or takeaway from our previous review. Drew did a great as did Brittany. Everyone was nice and we really enjoy this off the beaten path restaurant. We highly recommend it, but you might want to go early if you want to sit out by the water...
Read moreWe arrived with a one hour wait time. They called us exactly one hour later. There were (5) adults and children, a 3 and 2 year old. We were seated outside at the furtherest table with very dim lighting. It was around 7:30 at the time. We waited at least 15 minutes or longer before anyone acknowledged us, only after my wife got up and went to the cashier by the bar area. She asked could we be waited on. We had two small children with us. Understandably the restaurant was busy, BUT this is not acceptable. Then, my d-i-l went and asked again could we be waited on. More time had passed and not one person acknowledged we were there. There was a guy serving at the bar. I guess he didn’t see us. The hostess finally came to the table apologetically and took our drink order. She said the waiter was busy with a large party, but that was beside the point as someone else could’ve helped him. He finally came with drinks after the hostess passed it off on him (AFTER telling us he was busy to begin with) and asked if we were ready to order. I immediately asked for crab claws as that is generally why I choose certain restaurants to begin with. I asked the price and he replied $65 per lb. The previous night we ordered crab claws at $35 per lb. at another restaurant. These were large, meaty delicious crab claws. I have the receipt to prove the price. I told the waiter I would be glad to speak with the manager, but at this point I decided to move on with ordering. My wife started with shrimp and a baked potato. He immediately answered that he was sorry, but they were out of baked potatoes. At this point we decided to opt for McDonald’s. It was getting late, our babies were hungry and we were treated as a nobody. My family are kind hearted people. We are not out to make other’s life miserable and complain over nothing. We have been visiting Gulf Shores/Orange Beach since the 80’s. I worked for a construction company at that time that were part of the condo boom beginning with Sugar Beach Condominiums, Back Bay (now called Phoenix Back Bay) and many of the Phoenix’s. We had literally never heard of the Tin Roof until a year or so ago. Actually my wife talked to the hostess a second when we were first called in (inside at the hostess table) and she told her it had always been mainly snow birds and locals, but the condos were displaying and getting the word out, so we decided to try it out. Too bad that we had such a terrible experience. We were certainly wanting to try a new place and eat some good seafood. It was a good 30 minute trip from our condo so it is very unlike we will try this place again. To the ones that posted great reviews, you are fortunate. I’m sure the food is great, but our experience...
