We went today for lunch/dinner. We sat at a long hightop table and we all sat by the waterfront. The hostess laid out menus on the opposite side of the hightop and said here’s your menus then went to a booth and laid her head down to scroll on her phone. Our server switched out menus out from lunch to dinner menus and said we can’t ring in lunch past 3:30- even though it was only 3pm.

We must’ve been in the middle of shift change because we witnessed a regular run out to his truck and come back with a paper sack, (everyone at the bar top were clearly regulars) he gets back and sits back at the bar, then the night shift bartender comes in and exchanges something for the paper sack with the man. She then took the paper sack back to the area between the dining rooms and the opening of the bar and I witness her shooting a mini out of the bag. She then proceeds to go behind the bar and begin vaping despite all the signs around the restaurant stating ā€œno smoking or vapingā€. After all this entertainment our food arrived. Mine had a small black hair on the rim of the dish which I didn’t call attention to, but shocked that the server or kitchen staff didn’t see. The food was good. The margarita I ordered tasted like Mountain Dew, which as a long time bartender I can assure you isn’t an ingredient. We then watch the night bartender make herself another drink while heavy pouring the patrons drinks. After we were halfway through with our meal we were being pressured to leave, my sister clearly still eating as her fork was in her mouth and we were asked if the checks would be separate while we are offered to go boxes. We hadn’t even been there a full hour before we were being ushered to hurry and finish.

Overall- I guess don’t go here unless you’re a local and definitely do go here for a nice family outing. It was an experience, but I wouldn’t...

Constructive review for a decent place. Went to dinner there Friday and wanted to see if it was up to the reviews. Well, its good, but needs work. The good. Clean pleasant dinning area made you feel at home right away. Nice to look over the lake. Service was top notch. Pleasant, quick and really took care of us. The food was hit and miss. The hits: Black and Blue Salad with Filet and New York steak were delicious. The home run was easily the grilled mixed vegetables. Skip the side salad (I had the Ceasar and it was mediocore, needed shredded parmasian and a pepper grinder but neither were present on the table or offered. I would choose a more aromatic dressing as well if I were deciding. Whatever brand Ceasar dressing they use is OK only). Back to the mixed grilled veggies. Absoluely Perfect!! Order the steak and get two sides of the veggies. They are so worth it!!!! The Sweet tea is very nice as well. The misses: jalapeno crab bisque had no jalapeno zing to it. It was flavorful, but was expecting some spicy emphasis. It wasn't there. Still tasted good, just wanted the extra zing of jalapeno accents. The Ceasar Salad as mentioned above makes the miss list of course. But the biggest miss for me was the Men's bathroom. Just horrid. Reminded me of a dimly lit Spring break dive bar bathroom. The management needs to address this now in my opinion. Spend the money and make it as welcoming as the dining area, because it certainly is not. Fill the holes, replace the fixtures with something over 8 lumens and get unused plumbing leads behind the walls. Coordinate the wall and celing colors and textures too. Your customers deserve a restroom that doesn't scare them. This place is ready to excel with a little attention. Will definitely return after the bathroom...

I would actually give this place 0 stars. My husband and I walk in and there were tables by the water available. They stuck us in the ā€œbanquet roomā€. This room is where employees leave all their belongings and eat. There was junk everywhere. The music was turned up so loud back there you couldn’t hear anything else. All you could see was the internet routers and cords at an opening on top of a wall. We order and my husbands tea taste soured. We both order a well done cheese burger. They brought out food and mine had no cheese. We send it back. When it finally comes back I cut it in half and it so raw when I mashed it blood came out. We called the waitress over. She offered to send it back again. I told her nah I’m just done that I wasn’t going to send it back again. She goes to tell her manger and instead of him coming over to the table he looks at me when ge walks by like I’ve done something wrong. Then she comes back and stated he just took mine off of the ticket. By the time we get home my husband started feeling sick from his food. It was over $20 and I didn’t get to eat anything. I will never ever go back to this...

Food was awesome and they had some good options for kids' meals, and reasonable prices. Legit little dockside bar & grill. Definitely a bar though, a sign on the door said under 21 not permitted after 8pm. We ate outside and shortly we learned that's where people step out to smoke. For us that was no bueno. Next time we'll sit inside. The kids had chicken tenders the kids' menu, and they were crispy, flaky, hand-battered tenders. The fries were good too, but I only managed to negotiate like 2 of them away from the kids. I had an A-1 burger and it was SO good. Flavorful and tasted char-grilled. Also had a side salad with ranch and the ranch is šŸ’Æ! It looks and tastes like hand-mixed buttermilk ranch, not bottled grocery store dressing. Hallelujah!!! Major points scored for that ranch, imho. Husband had chicken nachos and they too were yummy (not as yummy as my burger tho) and generously portioned. The chips appeared to have been freshly flash fried, which is always nice. Apparently my burger was so mesmerizing, I forgot to take a photo.

It's okay, but I recommend exploring other options in the area. Full review: My husband and I visited Fire By the Lake on Saturday, 8/12/23 around 1:30pm. The parking was awkward and barely sufficient--particularly the handicapped parking. This restaurant is very close to a busy road with a 60mph speed limit. The restaurant was technically handicap and wheelchair accessible, but it was not handicap friendly. My husband had trouble moving through the dining room with his walker, and he said the floor was slick in the bathroom. The dining area was crowded and noisy, but the tables were well-spaced. The restaurant was well-staffed and the service was speedy. The dining area and bathrooms were a bit dirty. The food was just okay. I thought it was like a mom and pop version of Applebee's, but Applebee's (in my opinion) is better. The prices were average. Overall, I didn't like it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't worth the expense and parking difficulties.

Fire by the Lake – Guntersville, AL Fire by the Lake is truly Guntersville’s best-kept secret! Every bite is seasoned to perfection, and you can feel the love and passion behind every dish. The customer service was just as sweet — warm smiles and good energy all around. This cozy little hideaway serves food that could stand right beside any high-end restaurant, Food will have you smiling! 2 ppl appetizer catfish bites with the special dipping sauce; entrĆ©e stuffed shrimp, desert one slice of Key~Lime Pie we shared costing us m, $80.00 oh one sweet tea and one water.; YEAH PRICE WAS LIKE OOOUUCCHH! Yet, The flavor, texture, and care in every plate were simply unforgettable.
