When we arrived, two elderly people were in front of us and immediately denied seating/asked to leave by the only waitress/hostess working. They left and a table opened right as they left - I felt bad for them for getting a “we had no tables” vs. a “there’s a few minute wait.” I felt bad as it’s a holiday weekend and they were elderly and seemed very excited to get out! We (my mother and grandmother) then sat at the open table and did not receive water or menus for about 15 minutes. The lady working was distant and annoyed, even giving the food runner a look when we went to get menus for ourselves. A small-town restaurant with a good local vibe. The interior is spacious, split between a dining room and dining/bar area. Classic mid-west building architecture adds to the atmosphere. Choose a seat by the front windows for a view of the lazy Saturday traffic.

Food and drink choices are clasic Americana. Pork dishes are delicious which should be expected in Iowa. The fried fish is very good as are meals for the kids. Beef choices are multiple and very nicely done.

This rating is based purely on customer service. I had never been to Prime Time (or Guthrie Center) before today so I decided to try this place out. With the COVID-19 restrictions in place, management has had to do a lot more cleaning. There was only one lady taking care of everyone in the lobby, and, even though she never had a chance to catch her breath because of answering the phone or sanitizing tables or helping customers such as myself, she always had a smile on her face and made her customers feel welcome.
