We had aweful service last night. When i addressed the issue to the owner she only made excuses for her waitresses that she was 15 and inexperienced, well with the attitude from the young lady that was obvious. I went with my 6 year, and my friend's 3 teenage daughters, and one who's birthday we were celebrating. All of the children ordered chicken strips. The 3 older girl's chicken plates were $18 each and my daughter whos order was off the kids menu was about $12 bucks. When my friend and went to the salad bar our waitress was turning our order in to the chef telling him it is the easiest order he'll have and making fun of it. My guess is that these chicken strips are so easy to make because they come from a freezer to the the fryer. For 18 dollars they dont even batter their own chicken strips? So after i sit back down, the waitress comes over telling us that our order will be awhile because they only have 2 fryers. Okay?? Not once in this extra waiting time did she come back to check on our drinks. By the time our food did arrive the sodas that were ordered had been empty for awhile. She set down the plates of chicken strips and frys all around the table. The childrens chicken plate didnt look much different from the $18 adult plates. My daughter had actually ordered mash potatoes and I told her after she set the plate down. She apologized and took it back to the chef whose response (i can hear cause the grill is all open facing the customers) was a snooty sarcastically toned "i am sorry". She comes back with my daughters plate and comments that he must have made the mistake cause it got lost in the order of all the frys. What? So apparently it is a big joke or an offense to order a few $18 plates of their chicken strips which is very similar in size to a child's plate here at this resturant. So then if it is such a big joke maybe they shouldnt offer the chicken strips on the menu or the waitresses should be trained to keep her mouth shut and do her service, check on our drinks and maybe she'd earn a tip. I dont handout tips for being cute little lady I am not some old perv. I dont feel that this request is unreasonable. For an $18 plate of frozen chicken strips and frozen frys I expect superb service. This restaurant is quite famous here in eastern oregon and my expectations are very high. Last night it did not meet up to these standards which is very disappointing. When I was a kid and there was a special occasion to celebrate this was the place to go. I believe my friend and I will be spending our money else where for these occasions from now on. Oh and did I mention the plate of chicken strips is $18? The delicious rolls, yummy salad bar, and Barley Brown's Pallet Jack didnt make up for the experience. Well maybe the pallet jack did......

Here's the TLDR: Terrible service ruined our anniversary dining experience, Made a reservation for 6:45 for 2. Drove the 40 minutes to Haines from our home. Arrived and was seated. Waited almost 10 minutes for anyone to serve us. Ordered drinks and dinner. Was told a batch of bread was cooking and would be out shortly. After waiting 45 minutes without any service our waitress stopped by to say, "sorry it's taken so long, there's a large group in the back, your food should be out shortly." About 15 minutes later she came by and said, "your food will be a couple minutes more, it's my fault because I forgot to enter your order, your medium rare steak shouldn't take long." I asked if we could get some bread (we had never received any) and she delivered it. A few minutes later (at 8pm) the restaurant closed. A few minutes later my wife's chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes arrived. The manager (owner?) then stopped by to say, "I'm sorry about what happened, I normally catch that " A few minutes later my steak arrived. The food was fine but certainly not worth the almost hour and a half wait. There was never an offer to comp anything or make things right. Honestly there is no way we would have waited so long but we had a gift certificate which we received from family for our anniversary. This was not much of an anniversary dinner. Near the end the music was turned off and some of the lights turned off. We boxed up most of our meal and left. A very disappointing...
Read moreWas very excited to visit this steak house. Had heard from people how fantastic it was. Unfortunately it fell short. The service was awful. Our server was unattentative, the owner was clueless and the host didnt care. We were left 15 mins before our server acknowledged us. Mozzarella sticks were premade frozen products. Salad bar is old and outdated. We waited for our long propped up steaks. I ordered the steak with wasabi butter that was raw, cold and topped with green snot. Wife order ribeye with lobster that was cold and undercooked. Everything was extremely bland. Sent our steaks back and our server disappeard. Steaks can see back the second time and were still undercooked, they refried my fries, and my wife didnt get her lobster for 20 mins. Went and tried to talk to a manager or owner and never saw anyone. We waited and waited and noone ever came. We had a show to catch so we left. Literally the worst dining experience I have ever had. Do not go here.
Editing to reply to owner: We did not dine and dash. We gave you all every opportunity to fix the problem several times. We also did not walk in. I made a reservation. We did not get bread until we got our entrees. I had to ask for bread as the server forgot to give it to us. As for the steak, you should always season regardless of the "grade". The steak you bought and are so proud of is tough and full of grissel. Rather than admit you messed up you are making excuses. Hope you improve but you will not if you cant...
