Fire & Ice Smokehouse & Creamery — Restaurant in Halifax Township

Went for lunch during the middle of the week. We beat the rush, but when it hit the staff kept up and food kept getting pushed out fo the kitchen. They had one person running the front counter and she had no problems taking food and ice cream orders. All staff wore masks and were very friendly, with being patient with us cause we had a big order for multiple people.

I started with the Peter mountain pile up with pulled chicken and spicy tots. They knew me very well because they pulled up on the feta cheese, which is one of my favs. Great textures and flavors. The tots were fried to perfection cause when all of the meat and sauce was added they held their own with all of the moisture.

Got the sampler platter as well. Pulled chicken, pretzel bites, pulled pork, ribs, sliced brisket, and sweet Italian sausage. All meats had a nice smooth smokey taste and not overly done. The cornbread on the side was not dry and had a nice crumb.

Then to finish it all off we had to get ice cream, of course. My wife got the sampler platter which comes with 4 flavors. Then I got a milkshake that had the caramel machiatto and coffee. Be warned if you're not fond of coffee flavoring, I would not recommend those flavors. On the other hand I love coffee so it was right up my alley.

I’ll start with saying, I hate leaving bad reviews. The sliced brisket was very thin and dry, then the bun was huge. From a bbq standpoint it was bad. My girlfriend had the smack up and it was good. Maybe go with the chopped brisket. Mac n cheese was pretty good. Green beans were kind of odd, tasted really vinegary. Corn bread seamed under baked. I really wanted to love this place. The inside was cool. Their ice cream is A+.

Also not to make it political or religious, and my review has no reflection on that, just the food. No one should impose their own religious views on anyone else. Not saying they did but there wasn’t much more to really get out of the situation. It was like walking into a new-age mega church, almost Joel Osteen kinda vibe. Just to reiterate, it’s just a mask. If you care about your customers, their family’s and your employees, just wear it. It’s doesn’t infringe on your rights, it doesn’t hinder your ability to breathe. It just doesn’t. I’ll finish with saying they’d probably get more business if they followed these common courtesy and respectful guidelines. The people working there seemed really nice and I’d hope they’d understand. As I typically do when visiting a "smokehouse" for the first time, I ordered brisket. Thumbs up. Tasty. Mostly tender. I got a side of smoked mac and cheese. That was tasty, but I think they may have accidentally given me the normal mac and cheese, as there wasn't really any smokey flavor (unless my taste buds were overwhelmed by the meat). I had a bite of the pork belly burger. That had good flavor, but the texture was kinda weird for me. The baked sweet potato waffle fries were delicious. After the meat and potatoes portion of the meal, of course we had to get the ice cream. I recommend the sampler, as you get to try 4 different flavors and still get a decent portion of each.

Clean building/atmosphere. Family friendly. Seemed to be family run (a bunch of kids were delivering food to the tables).
